Closer to 5 stars than 4
Rather than a track-by-track commentary, I'll be brief.

This album is for the most part a very serious, rather complex work that has a lot of thought (and sounds) put into it.

"Take Back this City" and "Disaster button" are the two more poppy, college-radio-friendly songs on it. They sound very similar, with different lyrics but very reminiscent song structures. The rest I view as very intelligent adult alternative music.

Great to play on a good sound system with fairly high volume, since there are a number of extra, subtle sounds thrown in.

I think the first and last parts of "The Lightning Strike" are brilliant, with the middle being a very piano-heavy transition with some light, crunchy guitar, synthesizer, and interesting drumming (or is it more keyboard) added. So, the first part builds up, transitions to a mellower part that also builds up, and then finished with a very layered segment with (I believe) overdubbed vocals and a steady beat.

A note to fans of Eric Matthews (who had a big alt-hit "Fanfare" in the 90's), much of the vocals and some of the music reminds me of his.

I also hear elements of Mercury Rev in this.

Very mature, thoughtful album not for fans of simple music.

No track 11?
During the download, I didn't get track 11. When I called customer support, I was told I needed to purchase that song for an additional charge.

Fresh & Heavy on the Piano
I haven't been a huge fan of Snow Patrol, but this album is a breath of fresh air. This is what the new Keane album should have sounded like!

Whatever you like...sike
TI does a good job of slowing down his hardcore flow to let the ladies know that he has a softer side. The singing doesn't really help make the song better but it does create a chill vibe, that increases the affectionate atmosphere...great beat, lyrics, song...! If you want something a bit harder you should check this out: The Carr (Ridin' 24's)

Have it your way
TI's "Whatever you like" is a ringtone-happy rap song. It's not meant for deep thought,but it fails in the guilty pleasure department (Flo Rida's "Low" succeeds) It's got the simple chorus "If you give me your body/you won't need nobody",and TI promising riches. He wants nothing more to sleep with the woman so he can shower her with his wealth. It's not much of a love song, it's more about materialism and sex (not that there's anything wrong with the latter) It's sexual without being sensual.

As TI serves house arrest, his "Whatever you like" is enjoying unexpected success. It's got a good beat. Other than that, it doesn't offer much.

This album will be his best yet!
It's just a matter of weeks before this track hits number one. ATL's best returns with another dope track to whet your appetite for hip hop. Despite his legal woes and public setbacks, it sounds like T.I.'s concentration is well intact. Much of the new album being recorded while on house arrest, T.I. promised to deliver the goods and to counter the wave of "junk" being released right now. Whatever You Like is vintage T.I. with as nice a flow as ever. The full album,Paper Trail, is slated for a late September release and is already a hit as a pre-order.

Inspires Inappropriate Behavior.....................
Britney is a role model - unfortunately this song encourages aggressive and provocative behavior. NO NO NO!!!!!!!! I'm a shut-in who lives with his loving mother because I can't find an old-fashioned lady who pleases me. If you young gals want to get me away from Mother, you better find a better role model.

I personally really love this song. It really depends on the person cuz it could just be not in their taste, and yes personally for me i didn't catch on to it when i first heard it. but after hearing it a second time, i can't stop listening to it~! it has such a catchy tune and beat and the song has a bit of a better meaning than her other songs xP. it's a very good song... everyone should support britney! she's on a really great roll and i'm happy for her first number one billboard song since baby one more time... go britney~! keep bringing great songs!

showing us what you have
The more I hear this song, the more I like it. I don't think it is a "perfect" song, but it is a great start. I expect to hear a lot from this guy in the future, he has amazing natural skills. I am amazed at how unsure he is of himself, until he starts to sing...then stand back.

Archie sings better than this song!
Archie has an amazing voice. Crush, on the other hand is so over-produced it barely lets his voice come through. I don't think the song is horrible, it is just that Archie is so much better than this song allows him to be!

(And honestly, the song after hearing it a few times is rather boring...)

And before all you rabid Archie fans jump all over this review, stop and think about what I am saying. I am reviewing THIS SONG, not Archie. You have to admit Crush is NOT the best vehicle to let Archie's vocals shine.

I hope his album showcases more of David's great voice.

Welcome to those who are just meeting David Cook
Love, love, love this song.

What I have loved about David Cook from the beginning is that his voice has great range - there is no aspect of it that has to be "covered up" by production. I have been listening to his songs, including those on Analog Heart, since early this spring and I assure you this man can sing anything. (Listen to his studio version of The Music of the Night if you doubt it.)

This new song should attract the kind of fans who are generally drawn to this type of music, while not turning off the fans who have flocked to him since they heard his own "power ballad" version of Hello (Lionel Ritchie). For those of you who are just meeting him for the first time, you will find that he is not only a talented singer but also an amazingly creative and articulate songwriter - not to mention a genuinely nice man.

It grows on you
My first thought was not bad, but nothing to get too excited about either. But then each time I listened, it grew on me a little more.

The tune is very catchy, with a driving beat and some nice guitar work. It's the kind of song that sticks in your head and will have you tapping along with the beat.

It's nice to see Lindsey's still putting out good tunes, but my favorite solo Buckingham song is still "Trouble" from the 1981 Law and Order album. Law and Order

Always interesting
Lindsey Buckingham always seems to come up with interesting songs. Whether it be for Fleetwood Mac or his own solo material, you could always count on it being just left of the norm and to provide some great guitar playing. This song is no exception. While it starts out a bit strange, it comes on strong with his unique picking style and breathy vocals. Not the strongest song that he has ever written, but it does grow on you after a few listens.
My few complaints are that it starts off sounding much like "Tusk" though it does break away from that in short order, the lead guitar sound is awfully harsh, and that it seems much too short. Small complaints indeed, but the reasons I rate it 4 stars instead of 5. Might just have to pick up the album!

PINK IS BACK!
I am soooo glad to see PINK back to her man hating independent self again. I loved and collected all her music before she "fell in love" and her love music just wasn't for me, but because i loved her i bought it anyways... now this is a CD I am DYING to get my hands on!

Meh, just her and her hand tonight,
Pretty weak for a Pink tune. Basically it appears that her separation from her husband and termination from Sunday Night Football has left her shaken and consequently Trying Too Hard. (tm)

Imagine: Ok, we need a single to lead off the new album. Lets see, multiple Grrrl Power references to "starting a fight," Check. Grrl dissing her ex (that she proposed to) to show she's unaffected by the failure of the relationship, Check. Affirmation of material success by still being a "Rockstar," Check. Disco, (wtf? Disco...seriously??) Check.

Its passable Top 40, but much more formulaic and needy than, say, Just Like a Pill, an actual breakup song by Pink. Contrasting So What with Just Like a Pill the listener is inescapably left with the conclusion that Pink has officially jumped the shark. Stay tuned for a song about how she struggled and can still relate to those of us earning less than $500,000 a year.

Not What I Expected To Come From Divorce.
There are many different angles one can take when writing a song about divorse. The completel anger angle. The heartbroken angle. The apathy angle. This song is something different. It has a combination of all of those and a little more. And watching the music video will still leave you stretching your head yet you'll find your head bopping along to the sound. It's good stuff.

best cd EVER!!
You can't beat this CD!! This CD has slow and fast songs. There is two or three bad words but it is worth the price!!

Sounds Like a New Version of Jackson 5
I don't follow this band, but I was listening to the newest cd and alot of the tracks sound like a newer version of a cd put out by Jackson 5. Like a 2000 version of the Victory cd. Especially the tracks - Make Me Wonder and Kiwi. Most all of those songs have the a bit of that sound. Well, maybe they did pull from the past. Jackson 5 -- Now Maroon 5. Sounds good though.

different isn't bad
This CD sounds nothing like songs about jane, probably because the band switched their drummer due to permant injuries. I do think this is a great album though. Both of their albums are great and very different. I think Adams voice is just as good as ever. This Cd has more of a funky sound then their last one. If you want to hear songs about jane 2 don't expect it from this cd. If you like funk, alternative, rock, pop and soul then this is a good cd for you.

A sweet taste of things to come!
A remarkable talent...David infuses a sweet soulfulness to everything he sings. I think this song only partially showcases his vocal talent---its a bit limited both melodically and emotionally....but I think it succeeds in giving the public a small taste of what he is capable of, and hopefully the upcoming album will show off even more of his range.

This one is all hype... sorry.
While this is a catchy tune, and as always, David's voice is beautiful, the song itself is not even close to the average 5 star review it currently holds. This young man is comfortable singing ONE thing... ballads. He does it well, but for someone his age, I just don't think he will have the staying power, churning out album after album, sounding the exact same each time. Sure, there will be songs such as this one... attempts at mainstream pop, but unfortunately, I just don't think it suits him. Eventually, the strong teen fanbase he has (not to say that he doesn't have some older fans mixed in there too!) will walk (if not run) back to their mainstay. It's sad though, that someone who is looking for honest feedback on a particular album or musician, is, at least in this case, met with a cult-following who would rate a track of David A. singing in the shower with 5 stars....LOL I like the kid.... no one disputes the fact that he has a beautiful voice, but that's all he has. No versatility, no stage presence whatsoever... just not sure how far the 'great voice' will carry him. In this day and age, selling records is about more than a 'great voice'. Many very talented artists have fallen by the wayside, simply because they lack the 'IT' factor, and sadly, not only does David Archuletta lack the 'IT' factor.... I don't even think he knows what it is): I predict that Archie's fans will continue to join this site, so they can review, not only this single release, but the upcoming debut album. What does this equate to? Well, this single will continue to be highly rated, as will his debut album. It will sell and sell and sell.... to some fans who are simply loyal and love his voice, but sadly, many will spend their hard-earned cash (or their parent's hard earned cash) because they believe if they can buy enough of Archie's records, downloads, etc., then somehow it will change the fact that he didn't win the big AI title.
So, in the short run, David A. will do well... sell an awful lot of records/downloads... and he deserves it. In the long run though, I'm afraid to say, I think people will grow weary of parting with their cash in order to hear the same songs, again and again (with a few awkward 'new' songs thrown in to mix things up). Much as I love the kid, he's NOT the next Josh Groban, and unless producers manage to turn him into the next backstreet boy (and that comes off awkwardly even in text!), he doesn't really have a large place in the music industry. I know, just an opinion... but that's what this review is for, right? He will be a success, I'm sure.... just not as big as the many people writing these rave reviews believe he will be. All of this rambling, I guess I might just sound like a David Cook fan, huh? Okay... busted. It is worth noting though, that just because I was rooting for and support DC doesn't mean that I'm against Archie, or that I won't give a listen to his new music...... and rate/review it with an open mind.

FANTASTIC!
Anyone who knows David Archuleta knows he has the amazing ability to sing ANY type of music, and his first single is NO exception. It is just the right song for everyone of any age. It's youthful yet mature, upbeat, lightly romantic, and it brings to mind every feeling associated with having your first real CRUSH in life. EXCELLENT!!!

Good not great
It was a good movie but not great, I found some of the nudity disturbing and out of place.

Enjoyable caper flick
I saw this movie on Unbox and thoroughly enjoyed it. The movie is set in 70s-early 80s England and its fun to see the people wearing costumes from back then and driving around in the British cars from that period. Also I found the story intriguing and not out-of-the-world unrealistic as some movies tend to be, as its based on a true story. Acting in my opinion was above par and the movie did not have unnecessary scenes of violence.

So I hope you enjoy it, I certainly did.

Owen at his best!
As always, Owen Wilson has created a whole new character in 'Drillbit Taylor.' This movie will keep you rolling in the floor with laughter. Thanks Amazon.com!

Drillbit Taylor
I didn't hate this movie, but anyone giving this movie four stars hasn't had enough exposure to good comedy. I found it mildly amusing, but when it gets right down to it, it wasn't anything to text home about. A homeless man is hired by three kids to keep the bullies off their backs. He proceeds to rob them by pretending to need supplies. This is of course in addition to the money they have paid him. Anyone that thinks this is funny is hurting for jokes. At any rate there are some funny parts like when Drillbit tries to teach them to fight. That and the scene where they practice their moves being tough without Drillbit near the end.

Eventually Drillbit becomes attached to the kids and gets back the stuff his homeless buddies stole from one of the kids parents. The ending is pretty decent. Although most of the family will enjoy this you will definitely be having discussions about right and wrong. The kid's parents taking the word of one of the bullies over theirs is pretty sad and doesn't add anything to the plot in my book. Not to mention I find it way hard to believe out of 5 parents none would believe their kid. Okay there is stretching things for comedy and fiction, and then there is going so far outside reality it goes beyond believable and hence funny or drama. Good quality DVD with limited replayability. If you enjoyed this catch "Ace Ventura", "Meatballs", and "Dumb and Dumber". - C. Luster

What's All The Hate For...
Seriously why are there so many haters? This is a funny movie "Sometimes you have to throw some Mexican Judo in there as in ju don't know who you're messin' with holmes," come on that is a funny joke and the fact that Drillbit doesn't like confrontation and he was an army desserter because he was basically a wimp is pretty funny considering until that point he really didn't know how to fight at all and then at the end he opens up a serious can is pretty awesome. It's not a great comedy but for the insane geeky parts it has all the charm of Superbad and Knocked Up.

This movie isn't that bad. It has it's moments like all other comedies do and it has it's hit and misses and ALL other comedies do but that shouldn't discourage anybody from watching this movie which to me was not a waste of time whatsoever.

I'm the uncle that buys.....and then, has to listen to all of these songs over and over. Who ever picked this song, in her own words, "every body makes mistakes....nobody's perfect."

I enjoyed this song
I bought my daughter this CD at Target and have had to listen to it many times. I'm really surprised by the harsh criticism here!! This is a re-make of the song done by Cyndi Lauper, yes. But Miley Cyrus isn't Cyndi, and to expect her to sound "the same" is odd and disturbing at the same time. Miley has a different sound and I felt she made the song her own. This is one of my daugters favorite songs on the CD, and I think it's great that she and I can relate to a song that I grew up with as well. This is a fun and upbeat song. The whole album is well done with appropriate songs for a 15 year old to sing. Cut the kid some slack!!!

Doesn't Feel Like Fun
Honestly, for Miley Cyrus, she has shown to have a promising career that has a lot of diversity with her character Hannah Montana. However, for her to make a name for her own self as a singer is really been a lot harder than meets the eye. Her latest single doesn't really show that Miley is not as strong with making cover songs all her own either. Her rendidition of Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, the second single from her album Breakout, feels like it is just a waste of listening. I really was very dissapointed with the feeling of the song, because it doesn't capture the joy that Cyndi shows and made the song for over 25 years. I wasn't very amused with the song, and it feels like it is just something for the tween market, rather than something for everyone, just like her last single, 7 Things. If Miley is really going to make it on her own, she needs to be more than just a tween, and that is even beyond what the 7 things she had before.

It would be hard to imagine a more absorbingly intelligent American TV series--in terms of writing, acting, and visuals--than MAD MEN. Just before the final season of THE SOPRANOS began in late 2007, AMC presented us in the summer with the thirteen episodes of this marvelously atmospheric series created by one of the main writers of the series, Matt Weiner, that HBO insanely took a pass on. Ostensibly the series is about a group of advertising agency working for Madison Avenue advertising agency, the fictitious Sterling-Cooper, in 1960, during the Nixon-Kennedy presidential contest; yet on a deeper level the show wrestles with much larger questions about the meaning of obsession with having (and marketing) happiness in mid-20th-century America. The series centers primarily around four characters whose lives are inextricably linked with one another: Don Draper (Jon Hamm), a handsome advertising executive at Sterling-Cooper of few words but enormous creative gifts who hides a mysterious past; his beautiful but childlike wife Betty (January Jones), whom he keeps entirely separate in the suburbs from his work life and his mistresses in the city; Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss), Don's new secretary, whose naive affect and kind heart bely her tremendous ambition; and Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser), the smarmy account executive who trades on his ties to the Old New York "Knickerbocracy" to get him ahead. The four central actors are absolutely first-rate, as are several within their near orbits: John Slattery as Roger Sterling, the roguish partner who is both Don's friend and his competitor; the gifted Joan Hendricks, as the firm's femme fatale head secretary; and Robert Morse, as the firm's wily and eccentric senior partner.

Morse's presence ties the series to his famous work in both the Broadway and Hollywood production of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, and the episodes make intelligent reference also to any number of important American fictional works about the NYC business and suburban domestic worlds of the post-War era, including THE APARTMENT and THE BEST OF EVERYTHING. (Peter Yates's REVOLUTIONARY ROAD and the films of Douglas Sirk are also repeatedly evoked too, if in less direct ways.) One of the pleasures of this fine DVD set are the superb extras which allow us to see the especially thoughtful work done by the series' set designers, hairstylists, and (particularly) its head costume designer. The commentaries are generally excellent, and it will come as no surprise to fans of the series that not only the series creator, Matt Weiner, and its writers are especially eloquent but so too are its actors, especially Hamm and Kartheiser. The eye-catching design of this DVD package (fashioned to look and open, naturally, like a classic American manufacturer's product: a Zippo lighter) has been rightly praised for its innovation but also rightly criticized for its unwieldiness.

Immerse yourself in the tone, texture and feel of an era

Mad Men is one of those very rare TV shows that is both superb and popular. Sometimes there really is a TV god. Unlike great shows like Friday Night Lights, people are watching and the awards are rolling in - 16 Emmy nominations, more than any other drama this year.

It's 1960 in a Manhattan based advertising agency. The men have slicked back hair, crisp white shirts and perfect suits. What comes out of their mouths would get them slapped or sued if it happened today. Toots, babe, honey. Women are sex objects and they have less brain power - as one character says, "It was like watching a dog play the piano" when a certain female character with professional drive and passion exceeds the lowly expectations of the men.

The women are no better. The head secretary tells another female that they (the men) designed the technology so simple that even a woman can use it. A mother smokes and drinks while pregnant and ignores the danger of a nearby child playing make believe with a plastic drying cleaning bag over her head. Some of the women act childish because that's the role that's been forced upon them. Others are starting to reject the social strait jacket and are rebelling - it's the beginning of a new era and they are the foremothers of what is about to hit this nation like a baseball bat to the head.

The wall paper in one house is plaid and the cars are big and many have tail fins. There's a cigarette in almost every scene - people cough and there's no recognition of any connection in their minds. One major character smokes, drinks and eats with abandon and almost dies of a heart attack with, again, no recognition of cause and effect.

This show, unlike any on air or cable at this time, immerses you in its era. It's authentic, real and grabs your attention. Quite simply, if you watch only one current show on TV this year it should be Mad Men.

Several reviewers have commented on the packaging. While it is a little more delicate than others, it's still cool (it's like a cigarette lighter) and you can handle the DVDs without damaging them. The DVDs are held in the case with a foam insert that doesn't scratch the surface. When you take the DVDs out you have to gently push against the top side with your (clean) fingers and gently push upward. They will come out and you won't smudge or scratch the surface. If the DVDs are getting damaged it's because people are just grabbing both sides of the disc and pulling it out. Unlike other reviewers, I have not been impressed with other boxed sets where you end up literally breaking the plastic sprockets that hold the DVDs in place. If you want really poor packaging just look at the complete West Wing. In any case, you can handle these DVDs and not damage them.

The extras here are sparse but very good nonetheless. There's an hour long behind the scenes docu that looks as all aspects of the show from character backgrounds to hair and art design to the actors feelings about their characters. It's not full of that fluffy hype stuff you find on other DVD sets where they just show you short clips from the show and present it as somehow something new. You'll actually learn something about the show. I would love to see full interviews with all the actors to talk about the characters they're playing. Maybe we'll get that in the season 2 set. As noted by others, the commentaries are minimal and a bit disappointing. Doesn't really matter in the end as it's still a superb show you simply shouldn't miss.

Brilliant First Season

Mad Men is the first original drama series from the cable network AMC and they hit it out of the ballpark. Set in 1960 and focusing on a fictional advertising agency Sterling Cooper, the show tells the story of ad men in a haze of cigarette smoke and booze. The first episode foreshadows the change in our culture as the firm struggles to find a new advertising campaign for Lucky Strike cigarettes now that the government won't allow them to use testimonials from doctors that cigarettes are safe. The show is fanatical with its attention to period detail. Show creator Matthew Weiner has extensively researched the products, clothes and just about everything else from the period and has created a picture perfect time warp. But that is just a shiny veneer for the deep and dark storylines that include a secret past with a changed identity, depression, heart attacks, infidelity and so many others. The show shoots off in so many directions, yet never loses focus. The anchor of the show is Jon Hamm who plays the main character Don Draper. Mr. Hamm is a revelation and his work is the best of any actor on television this year. The rest of cast is first rate as well and Mad Men is one of the best and most entertaining shows to debut in past few years.

Glorious, involving, terrific drama; best TV in years

The summer of 2007 is when Mad Men swept the nation. Why? It is anti-politically correct. It is an intelligent, thinking man's ("persons" would be too PC for *this* show)) show for adults. Not to mention the fantastic, Rod Serling-esque realism in the quality of its writing, the direction, the scope, and the dazzling work of the previously unknown cast - now all certified household names - stars, if you will (none will ever have to worry about getting future work). The best part of this casting is that there are no familiar public-entrenched "personalities" to disturb the continuity and believability of the proceedings; a "star" would have interupted the realism of the story and surroundings. And, in the process, we get to discover a whole new set of actors (their work and camaraderie is gaspingly satisfying, the most sheerly pleasurable in recent memory).

Matthew Weiner, the show's genius creator, has painstakingly ensured that we're really getting a believable early 1960s. There's not an irritatingly currently contemporary viewpoint to be found anywhere. Of course the show is depicted in a hindsight manner; but all of the dialogue, situations and characters are all breathtakingly, reassuringly of a past time. Despite the deceptively, smoothly stylized look via the posh sets and clothes, the atmosphere is constantly invaded by the smog of cigarette smoke; we're not used to seeing such flagrant puffing and inhaling on film. You can almost smell the overfilled ashtrays. No one goes outside to smoke here. This is the Martini and Rossi era, and everyone in corporate America smoked and drank as if it were part of the life and job description. Then, too, you see women used as business, sexual and marital props. They existed to serve their men (and I hope the PC feminists are in a tizzy, because they should be). To provide their dictation, their pleasure, their masculine image, their food, their offspring. Of course, we see in Joan, the foxy, knowing secretary, using the men in return to get what she wants; and we see in Don Draper's wife (brilliantly, tensely enacted by January Jones) an all-pervasive, unnameable malcontentedness. We see the glaring dichotomies of the men, looking Madison Avenue dapper, but behaving and displaying attitudes of overgrown high schoolers. Most of these men, from today's standpoint, are bastards; and no attempt is made to Ralph Nader or Alan Alda-ize them (it would be interesting to have the series run into the late 1960s, when these men are forced to run into the massive social consciousness that emerged in a shockingly short time later).

Most of all though, the tone of the show is presided over by the brilliant Jon Hamm, whose Don Draper is the most multifaceted character on television in ages. Hamm is blessedly allowed several moments in deep repose, and we can see the massively disturbed soul behind the savvily successful executive. And yet the character's troubled mien allows him to understand human nature, therefore key elements in advertising - how to emotionally ensnare the public into believing the merit of a product or slogan. He's also smart enough to see that Peggy (wonderfully played by Elizabeth Moss), the secretary, with her questioning, probing mind, has a depth unavailable to most of the male executives, to provide key insights into how to sell a product. Hamm's Don Draper is already a classic, public-entrenched persona. It is a stunningly limned portrayal.

The great strength of this show is its quietly commanding, un-TV-like sense of pacing. You wouldn't call this a suspense show, yet the bottled-up, stealthy sense of pacing keeps us in a tantalizingly unnerved state; you always wait for that cork to explode unexpectedly. The brilliance here is that the explosion factor doesn't always come when we expect it; but the build-up leads us to believe it will. Those explosions come when the build-up has not been prepared, and happens in a swift, tightly controlled manner, never spilling over into predictably cheap shock value.
After each show, we smile, having been on the edge of our seats, engrossed, and left deeply satisfied - and impatient for next week. Thursdays at 10:00. Phone turned off, a glass of wine or spirits.

Another great asset to the overall tone is the darkly cynical humor. Never overplayed or explicitly self-conscious, it nevertheless ingeniously, deftly exposes the foibles of human nature. The most overt humor is slyly depicted by Christina Hendricks, whose eye-poppingly Kim Novak-voluptuous, leeringly confident secretary Joan is an absolute delight. Hendricks looks and acts so unerringly real of the time period, it would be a shock to see her as she really is in real life. She and John Slattery, perfectly playing the sloppily amorous boss, create genuine sexual edge in their scenes together.

Vincent Kartheiser, playing Pete Campbell, an insecure, untalented but ruthlessly ambitious business and social climber, is scarily effective; there's an element of genuine danger in this character. Campbell is so aware of his limitations, and you sense he'd stop at nothing to prove himself.

The good-time unreformed Frat-elevated-to-biz-executive contingent, played by Rich Sommer, Aaron Staton, Michael Gladis, and Bryan Batt, strike just the right notes; they're all joyfully oversexed, blithely good-time, but very real, and we get to see inside their characters.

Robert Morse, the only familiar name in this cast, is perfect as the head of Sterling Cooper, a boss who cares not what goes on as long as the money rolls in.

I hope Mad Men will be on for years to come. HBO's loss is AMC's considerable gain - and is the best-written, best acted show of our time. It will be heralded, discussed, and acclaimed for years to come, and be held as the classic show it has already become. I have never enjoyed something so much as this intriguing, wonderfully engrossing drama. Cheers and thanks to all those involved.

Saw this movie afew days ago and haven't been able to get the music out of my head. I'll be buying the DVD when come out and the music as well.

Not the best.
When I saw the stage musical I bought the Special Edition Original Cast recording. That CD had 27 tracks. This one has 17. The overture/entrance for both act 1 & 2 was dropped from the movie. The 3 finale/encore songs was in the movie but not on this CD. In addition Chiquita and I Do was not on the CD. Our Last Summer replaced Thank You For The Music in the movie. Thank You For The Music was used during the credits in the film and is the bonus song. If you wait 15-20 seconds after the last song I Have A Dream this will magically appear. So patience grasshopper and leave your CD player alone.

What I missed most from this CD was the spoken parts within the songs was missing. Especially when Sophie was asking her prospective dads questions during Gimmie and the dads realizing why they were there and offering to walk her down the aisle during Voulez-Vous. The presence of select lines in the musical play CD make me relive the play again; the lack of them makes this CD feel like just another version of ABBA.

With one exception the singing of the cast was at least adequate. Better than the singing in the Original Cast recording.
Meryl Streep was a standout. As effective as Celine Dion during The Winner Takes It All. Yet during Slipping Through My Fingers was very soft as she reminisce about her daughter. Very nice changing her singing style to match the mood of the song.
With one exception Amanda Seyfried also did a good job.
Julie Walters & Christine Baransky are rather brassy but does a good job.
One of the problems I had with the musical Original Cast recording was the similar almost monotonous sound. The different styles on this CD makes things much more interesting.
Now the problem songs.
During Our Last Summer Pierce Brosnan only has 2 lines and was not bad enough to ruin the song. The rest of the time he was singing chorus where Coiln Firth shines. Unfortunately while the song was a soft reminiscing pierce Amanda Seyfried sang full out and broke the mood.
SOS needed saving from Bond, James Bond. Pierce sang the 1st stanza. Not particularly good but I can grin and bear it. Until Meryl Streep sang the 2nd part. It was night and day. Ouch!
Knowing Me Knowing You was replaced by the (easier to sing?) When All Is Said And And Done. The producers should have just cut both and let it be. I hate fumbling for the Next Song Button.

Lost in Translation?
The positive reviews for this soundtrack and movie are stunning to me. Did we all watch and hear the same movie/soundtrack? Never having seen the broadway musical, could something have been lost in translation from the stage to the big screen? I am a huge ABBA fan and I found the movie adaptation and the singing frightfully painful. It was horrendous actually. The cast butchered just about every ABBA song they sang. The only song that was done well was Thank You for the Music sung by Amanda Seyfried which was part of the end credits. Just about every cast member in the screen version of Mama Mia I liked, but how these people thought they could sing is totally beyond me! All the cast did was jump up and down and yell. ABBA never did that. I left the theatre with a headache and I'm not a musical novice, either.

Good movie with lots of excitement
I know some people did not like Jumper. However, I thought it was a very good movie with lots of great special effects. It also looks very, very good in Blu Ray!

Watch the trailer
This movie is following a disturbing trend in modern movies. Basically, they put everything in the trailer and there's 90 minutes of **** in the movie. I expected much more than I got. Wait for this on cable and save your money.

Exciting Special Effects, But No Real Thrill For Me
Jumper is about a guy name David played by Hayden Christensen that can teleport almost anyplace on earth. He found out he had this ability really by accident, and he thinks for a while he is the only person that can teleport. David eventually starts living the good life, simply by taking what's not his and traveling the world by using his supernatural powers. The villian played by Samuel L. Jackson arrives mixing up his perfect world, and the character David soon realizes he is not the only jumper in the world. And so the story goes on with David trying to save his girlfriend played by Rachel Bilson and to get away from Samuel L. Jackson's character.

I don't really have a character in this story that I truly liked. But as for the movie as a whole, I thought it was fast paced, full of special effects, and looks like it would be a lot of fun to teleport (but not into water). In the end, I lost track with all the jumping into different places and all, but it ended with somewhat of a happy ending. So, I didn't really didn't question what happened. Samuel L. Jackson's character did not win. Hayden Christensen's character got the girl, but still lost out on someone he really wanted in his life.

I thought the movie was okay. I was a bit disappointed overall, but I thought the special effects were exciting.

Good Song Selection
Good song selection from Magic Tour. Especially like the full band version of "Ghost of Tom Joad" which I think is much better than the regular album version. I don't like the download format though. Would prefer a professional CD and/or vinyl release with color inserts, lyrics, etc. Very unpersonal these downloads. Bass tones are lacking too. Would like to see Bruce and the E Street Band just put out an all covers CD ala Metallica as their covers are often better than the original artist version. Again would like professional CD/LP even if cost was higher.

Powerful and poignant
Let's get the obvious out of the way right off the bat: Magic Tour Highlights, the new Springsteen digital EP to benefit The Danny Federici Melanoma Fund, is not actually the Magic tour's highlights. (Depending on which shows you've attended, you can probably name five or six actual highlights off the top of your head.) But these are a terrific sampling of some of the tour's best guest spots, and one truly moving moment among old friends.

The two non-Springsteen compositions are the lightweights of this collection, which is not to say that they're not welcome additions to anyone's collection of official releases. Alejandro Escovedo's "Always a Friend" has a great Band/Petty vibe and makes you want to hear more of what this guy's about, if you don't already know. And "Turn, Turn, Turn" sounds, well, like "Turn, Turn, Turn." It's a nice tribute to Roger McGuin, and Bruce puts on his best high-register twang for the occasion.

But it's the other two cuts that make the package. "The Ghost of Tom Joad" with Tom Morello is just chilling, easily the best version of the song on record. Morello's gruff vocals are an effective counterpoint's to Springsteen's -- he comes off like his angrier younger brother. But that guitar work ... How he makes those sounds come out of that guitar I have no idea, but frankly, it's freaking me out.

As for "Fourth of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)," is it the best live version the band has recorded? Maybe not, but it's certainly the most poignant. Given what's transpired since, Danny Federici's accordion sounds more wistful and mournful than it possibly could have that night in Indianapolis.

A fitting sendoff
A wonderful album that brings new life to two old favorites, and brings two songs new to Springsteen albums.

Tom Morello does an excellent job balancing out vocals on Ghost, and his edgy solo contrasts well with Springsteen's normal style.

Danny really plays his heart out for Sandy -- the accordion has never sung so sweetly or been filled with so much emotion. Bruce brings a joy and sorrow to the song that really shows you how hurt he is at losing a friend, but how glad he is to be able to send him off on stage, with the music they wrote and lived.

Turn! Turn! Turn! sounds like pure Byrds with a little E Street on top. Not a complaint if your as big a Byrds fan as I am.

Friend really brings a lot of energy to the album, and helps kick it off with a bang. And of course, having a 'new song' (even a cover) on a Springsteen album is always a plus!

"STALONE RAMBO THE COMPLETE COLLECTOR'S SET" Exept no imitations
THis is the box set you should get if you like rambo. It's got a 4 Rambo movies with Comintairy on all of then, with Stallone doing comintairy on "Frist Blood", and "RAMBO". The newly releast Rambo movie. There are deleated seans on all of the movies, and a didgitel copy of "RAMBO", and a 6th disk with interviews with the writer of the novil "First Blood", and the directer of "First Blood". Puss interviews with vietnam Vets. A must have for any Rambo fan. Do not exept any imitations.

outstanding product
I am a true fan of Sylvester Stallone and these movies did not disappoint. The added features were an outstanding addition to the great movie making. Viewing them was like reliving the excitement of the first time seen.

Great package not for the hard of hearing
I really like this collectors set, the dvds come in a metal box that has some really nice graphics. The extra features are also quite good and the quality of the movies is also very good. The reason I give it 3 stars is that the first 3 movies have no subtitle options I live with someone that has hearing problems and well with no subtitles we have to crank up the volume a bit so we can both enjoy the movies.

This Song is Definitely "Burnin' Up"
I love the Jonas Brothers' new sound. "Burnin' Up" is a great debut single for the brothers new album, A LITTLE BIT LONGER.

Who cares if it sounds like Maroon 5's "Make's Me Wonder," either you love the song, or not.

All this "burnin' up" "makes me wonder"...
I am a fan of the Jonas Brothers, and while I do like this song, as I listened to it, I wondered...why does this sound so strangely familiar? I felt like I'd heard it before.

And then, it hit me.

Seems the Jo Bros have taken a few lessons out of the Maroon 5 school of rock. The young musicians newest song has a very Maroon-esque style to it, like the new beat and most noticeable of all is how the Jo Bros have taken to using a new vocal sound, getting higher at certain points that give a very obvious nod to the talented Adam Levine's trademark sound.

I do give the boys kudos for choosing such a great band to emulate, but I also must express my disappointment in how far they went. They sound almost too similar. Listen to both songs at these points ("Makes Me Wonder" at 0:46 -and- "Burnin' Up" at 0:26), which are the choruses of both songs, and you'll see what I mean.

Tip of the hat or copycat? You decide.

Not a masterpiece but fun none the less.
Well, if you are a prude, homophobe and otherwise disinclined to be amused by Perry's admission that she kissed a girl and liked it then just stop reading and navigate to a music selection more suited to your prejudices.

Otherwise, the song is fun, a little bit of thump and her vocals are just fine. It's good enough that I stop channel hopping on XM when I happen on a channel playing it, and I marked it as a fav on my Zune.

Pop thump ugh
This is NOT a cover of Jill Sobule's "I Kissed A Girl". This one makes Ms. Sobule's version sound clever and charming. (well, it is, but that's not the point).

The bass line is what I would expect to hear from a tricked-out Monte Carlo with hydraulic shocks. The sexual innuendo is delivered by shouting. In short, the song is as deep and subtle as its title.

Disappointed.

Sex sells?
Sex doesn't sell with this horrible trash. This is nothing more than a lyrical attempt to sell lesbianism AGAIN. Been there, done that!!!!!!! Tila Tequila is a major crowd pleaser on MTV. Can we PLEASE move on as a human race? The songwriting is so horrid, it can't be classified as campy. Camp is fun, this is not.

The music/composition is just another cookie cutter piece of trash as well. Even a turd can float, but you can't polish it. I'm ashamed that this single/LP was released, ashamed that the recording industry will dive to whatever depths it takes to bring in a dollar.

The vocal is dull and lackluster. Don't bother. Move on. Be silent.

One of Worst Movies of the Year
This is one of the worst movies I have seen in recent years. I really like both stars, but they should be embarrassed to be part of such a poorly written & executed movie. The fake scenery of "Florida"...who knew the keys had mountainous terrain....looks like the Virgin Islands to me! C'mon that's just a basic that the setting should at least be realistic. The story line is weak and the humor is so predictable. This movie overall is just a waste of time and energy.

Excellent Romantic Adventure
I think a lot of people went into this movie expecting another lightweight comedy from this duo, but got a lot more. I went to see it with a female friend who loved "How to Lose a Guy", but isn't really into action movies. Well I loved it, and she not so much. Besides the entertaining storyline, the breathtaking scenery really steals the show. It's like going on a tropical vacation for 90 minutes, except you can drink the water. I don't think you can really qualify this as a chick flick, but it's earned a spot on my blu-ray shelf, and for a guy that's a lot.

A Fool and His Girl
Benjamin "Finn" Finnegan (Matthew McConaughey) is a beach bum with an interest in treasure hunts. He's also hardly responsible, which is why he sets his boat on fire and sinks it not too long after we meet him.

Tess Finnegan (Kate Hudson) has had enough. She's taken a job aboard millionaire Nigel Honeycutt's (Donald Sutherland) yacht. And she's divorcing Finn.

Finn's latest quest is the Queen's Dowry, a treasure lost almost 300 years ago. In fact, he's found a piece of it. Now all he needs is financial backing. His irresponsibility has left his last backer rather mad at him. So he decides to get Nigel's help, completely unaware that Nigel is Tess's new boss.

Unfortunately, the shipwreck is somewhere around the island owned by dangerous rapper Bigg Bunny (Kevin Hart). As in Finn's last investor. Can they find the treasure without Bigg getting his hands on it? Can Finn win Tess back in the process?

Let's be honest, this is mindless, predictable entertainment. Especially since the previews gave away many of the key scenes. But it is fun.

It's trying to be a action comedy. It had some laughs, but there weren't as many as I had hoped. The funniest scenes involved Nigel's daughter Gemma as played by Alexis Dziena. Anytime she was on screen, I was guaranteed a laugh. Most of the action in the film was played for laughs as well, and is over the top. Then again, what action movie isn't over the top? Even the exposition scene near the beginning that is key to understanding how Tess and Finn got started on this trail wasn't that great. I couldn't follow it, and I tried.

So why did I like it? Because of the characters. I really did care for all of them. Well, the good guys anyway. Credit for this obviously goes to the actors who are obviously having so much fun making the film. Frankly, they made it hard for me not to like it.

It may make me a fool, but I enjoyed this movie. You may not want to rush out and watch it, but if you get a chance, I bet you would enjoy it.

Delicious..but left a chip in my tooth!
Hard Candy is a good dance record. It has great beats but mediocre lyrics that are meant for the dance floor, except for a few select tracks. But it's not supposed to be a "deep" and personal record, it's supposed to make you MOVE!
The only track that should've been left of the album is "Spanish Lesson", which is the weakest track on the album. Thus, the chip in my tooth.

Diff but Good still
this album is stronger as individual singles than it is as an album of a "flowing sequential order"

Give it a year...
As with everything Madonna does, the haters are usually the ones to scream the loudest at first. They did it in 1992 with Erotica, in 2000 with Music, in 2003 with American Life, and now again in 2008 with Hard Candy. Over time, the perspective on all of her old "worst album ever" reviews starts to turn to a more honest, tempered opinion and respect for the material. Everything Madonna does musically is a step that only she has ever taken, so it's no surprise that the reactions run the gamut.

Hard Candy is certainly not her best album, but it IS an album that only Madonna could make. Many times, a negative review for Madonna is either a bitter, personal attack on her longevity or more about disappointment that she hasn't returned to one of her countless groundbreaking eras. Rarely do the harshest reviews of Madonna's music come from someone with a perspective on her career of making pop music better than anyone else in the world can.

A year from now, Hard Candy will stand strongly with her other once-lampooned releases that are now viewed as essential material to any pop catalogue. Well done on her part, in my opinion.

It's amazing what a few committed believers can do. In 1979, Charlie Wilson (Tom Hanks), a good timin' Texas Congressman finds Dan Rather doing a remote report in war-torn Afghanistan more interesting than a hot tub full of gorgeous naked women, drugs, and booze.

Next thing he knows, the sixth wealthiest woman in Texas and his sometime lover, Joanne Herring (Julia Roberts) invites him to a fundraiser. She's a bit right of center for him, but he goes--for the sex as much as anything probably.

He comes away with a mission. Start a war. If the US can arm Afghani rebels, they can stop Soviet encroachment into the Middle East--which would probably have ended with the Russians owning most of the oilfields and us out in the cold--quite literally.

"Charlie Wilson's War" is based on the true story of Texas' 2nd District US Congressman who literally did initiate the clandestine help the US gave the Afghani rebels. He, with a little help from his friends, increased the budget for help for these efforts from 5M to 1B within a 7 year time frame enabling the Afghanis to be the first country to defeat Russia and effectively end the "Cold War."

"Charlie Wilson's War" is by far the best film I've seen this Christmas season and I would not be surprised if it didn't win Oscars for picture of the year. Tom Hanks does an amazing job as the flawed man, who was a true patriot and humanitarian. Ms. Roberts does the over-the-top Texas heiress just right. Also, no surprise that Philip Seymour Hoffman blew us away as the rogue CIA agent, Gust Avrakolos.

The soundtrack, by Toto alumnus James Newton Howard, was the perfect accompaniment to the visuals. Mr. Howard has a way of picking just the right song to illustrate a time, emotion, or place. That CD is on my Wish List now.

The movie took you on the gamut of emotions from amusement, to horror, to suspense. How they managed to so succinctly cover almost a decade worth of machinations in an hour and a half still amazes me.

I wasn't the only person amazed. It seems several couples who'd come out of the film decided to eat at the same restaurant and the talk about "Charlie Wilson's War" was appreciative all around.

I'm definitely buying this DVD when it becomes available and possibly will see the movie one more time before it leaves the big screen. This one is definitely worth a second watch.

this has to be the worst album lil wayne has made. the old (lights out) block is hot, the carter lil wayne use to kill. ever since he swiched his style up he fell off hard! and a lot of these songs i heard months and months ago i thought they were on some underground mix tape or something. it seems like he lost his effort and drive to make good music. overall this album gets one star for the lack of effort and good music.

Can't Get Enough "Weeds"
Wonderfully funny show with some dark comedy and a plot line that twists and turns. Perfectly written and acted. Can't wait for the third season to be released. I can't wait to see what happened after the perfectly devised cliffhanger to season two.

Ha ha ha worth its weight in weed
I bought season 1 on a whim. watched it all in 1 day and the next day bought season 2 and watched it all! It is so funny and just off the wall this is what you wish suburbia was really like! I cant wait till the next season comes out on DVD. It is really my new favorite show. I wish i had Showtime just for this!

Welcome to the land of Ambien, Prozac, etc.
Be warned: this series is a lot of fun. I downloaded all the episodes in just a few days. Laughed and laughed. No, I was not high.

You could substitute the pot in this series with purebred dogs, racing cars, esoteric coffee, whatever. Weed is not central to the storytelling. It's all about the endearing collection of screw-ups!

OK, that's preposterous. It's also about the pot. The high tech grower's conference with the flowery interchangeable buzz marketing terms was hilarious. Riffing here: "It's a teutonic buzz, like a horde of barbarians flooding your mind to a techno soundtrack. Well-organized, disciplined muchies, with a clean finish." (If I were clever that would also refer to this series, but it doesn't - was just silliness.)

Anyone in California has seen a few of the planned purgatories that Agrestic so perfectly portrays. You buy into the dream thinking that comfort equals happiness, and the emptiness starts to gnaw at you. Enter our heroine.

You know, I never understood Kevin Nealon while he was on Saturday Night live, but here, he's outrageously entertaining playing the character of shallow Councilman Doug. I shouldn't single him out. Elizabeth Perkins is wonderful. Uncle Andy's lessons about life (all learned the hard way, apparently). Actually, practically everyone is great, which is weird.

Initially when I watched Mary-Louise Parker, I wondered who she kept reminding me of... and then it hit me: she was precisely mimicking Bradley Whitford, with whom she co-starred in West Wing, according to IMDB. Or is Bradley copying her? Will have to see them pre-2000. It's just like Geena Davis and Jeff Goldblum. (Update: in Season 3, she loses the Bradley speak. Good move, I think.)

If you are considering watching this, download an episode. Even if the drug premise offends you, the show is just too good to miss. Another of the great new cable series with wonderful characters & writing.

Almost a return to form
At first, I really only like 3 songs (Troublemaker, Pork And Beans, and Automatic). After listening to this album mulitple times, I find that I like 90 percent of this album. Pork And Beans is the best track, but The Greatest Man That Ever Lived is a close second.

IMO this album is much better than Make Believe, but is still does not take the band back to the Blue Album/Pinkterton sound (although a couple of tracks bring it very close). My favorite tracks are:

Confused by the extreme reactions to this album.
Is this Weezer's best album? No. It is their worst? No. Is it their strangest? Definitely. It would seem to me, though, that people are either so enamored with the band or so enamored with the past they've lost a critical ear. But let's take it song by song:

1. Troublemaker -- Fairly standard Weezer fare, really, although a bit more pop than perhaps their earlier stuff. Enjoyable, but not really memorable.

2. The Greatest Man That Ever Lived -- Yes, it's strange and rarely repeats -- save for the main chorus -- but each section is pretty catchy on it's own. They lyrics are pretty hilarious.

3. Pork and Beans -- Again, fairly standard Weezer fare, backed by a great video. It's pretty catchy, but not really that interesting.

4. Heart Songs -- Yes, it sounds a bit cheesy when it starts, but it's a great song, backed by an experience we all share: those songs that never leave you, that will always be important no matter how much time passes. It builds really nicely, too.

5. Everybody Get Dangerous -- For what it's worth, I liked "We Are All On Drugs," which probably informs my opinion of this song. I enjoy the heck out of it. The chord changes are great and the lyrics are hilarious -- a great job of taking me back to my youth and a legitimate question: what do we do when our kids act like we did?

6. Dreamin' -- An obvious single, made less obvious by the outro, which is really cool. A good song and classic Weezer.

7. Thought I Knew -- Yes, Brian sings lead on this. And, yes, it doesn't sound like a Weezer song at all, even on a album that's redefining what a "Weezer" song is. On it's own merits, this might be a great song, but it's simply too jarring to hear on the album.

8. Cold Dark World -- Scott sings lead on this one and it's much less jarring to me. I actually like this song. It's fairly driving and Scott delivers his vocals a lot like Rivers (who sings on the choruses).

9. Automatic -- I think this might be Pat on vocals here. Again, a twist from Weezer, but not completely different. It's an okay song. I think a big problem people might have with this album is the fact that these three songs come in a row.

10. The Angel and The One -- This is a great song. This is classic, heartfelt Weezer. I read a review where someone said this album didn't have the emotional appeal that previous Weezer albums have had, and while that might be true on a whole, this song (and Heart Songs) just really hit home.

BONUS TRACKS

11. Miss Sweeney -- I agree with a previous reviewer -- this song makes the bonus album a required purchase. It's just a great song and Rivers' vocal delivery is just so great. It's songs like this that make you realize just how creative Weezer can be.

12. Pig -- Another good one, kind of folksy, kind of earthy, but still quirky in that Weezer way.

13. The Spider -- Yeah, it's a little bizarre and kind of sounds like one of Rivers' home recordings. It might grow on me in time, but now it's just kind of there.

14. King -- Man, I don't know if Scott writes the vocal lines and lyrics or if Rivers handles that and just has Scott sing it, but I have to say that he's pretty freaking great. This is probably better than "Cold Dark World."

Overall, I think it's a good album. I'd have given it 3 and a half stars initially, but I'm sure it will earn the extra half a star going forward.

Weird Weezer
This album is by far Weezer's strangest album to date. On the first listen through the album I was disappointed. Some of the songs are so strange that I just didn't get them the first time through. After repeated listening, most of the songs have grown on me, and I really enjoy them. Let's get into it:

The Greatest Man That Ever Lived: This song has ADD and changes style every 8 bars. The song starts with a rap style, which I don't really enjoy in and of itself, but when tied to the rest of the song it works out nicely. The best moment of the song for me is when Rivers shifts to singing in the style of Queen. Weezer gets a good groove going, but then the song is disrupted by a monologue from Rivers. This part is distracting and throws it off the emotion it was building up to that point. Some people may like this, but I find it irritating. After the monologue, the song continues switching through another few styles, and finishes up with some solid Weezer style rock. Overall, one of the most enjoyable songs on the album. Very fresh.

Pork and Beans: This song feels like it was made for the radio, but it is solid rock, really catchy, and feels like Weezer. Also one of the best songs on the album. It's really a fun one to listen to repeatedly.

Miss Sweeney: This song is only included in the deluxe version, and is worth the extra money all by itself. It is a humorous piece and has a playful Pinkerton feel to it. Much to my surprise, it is my favorite track on the album.

Everybody Get Dangerous: This song was surprising. The first time I listened to it I really disliked it. To me it seemed like Weezer was trying to be hardcore and failing miserably. It wasn't until the third listen through that I finally realized this song is supposed to be absurd. This song is about teenage pranks, and Weezer seems to be making fun of the idea that they thought they were so bad at the time. That's my take on it anyway. From that perspective, this song is really pretty awesome.

Automatic: Another surprise, this song sounds very little like Weezer. It is sung by Pat Wilson (I believe), and the style is altogether different. In this case different is good. The song is slightly repetitive towards the end, but the guitar is pretty slick, so I really enjoyed it.

Pig: Another song that is only included in the deluxe version, this song is about the life of a pig. It's another good humorous piece, and I enjoyed it highly.

Heart Songs: This song is cheesy, but in the end it turns out pretty nice. Rivers reminisces on all his favorite bands. The climax of the song is when he talks about Nirvana as the influence that kicked off Weezer. Most people who were into rock music at the time remember what Nirvana meant for the rock world, so this song speaks loudly. I really like this song.

Dreamin: Good solid Weezer. More in the old style of Weezer than any other song on the album. It's not the best on the album, but it's a good song.

Troublemaker: This is another song that feels like it was made for the radio. It's sort of in the "Beverly Hills" style, but I actually like it better than that.

Now for the low points in the album.

Thought I Knew: This song is the antithesis of Weezer. Brian Bell is on vocals, and if you're expecting a Weezer song, look elsewhere. Some people may enjoy this one, but it sounds more like the kind of rock that Weezer replaced in the early 90's. I am not a fan.

Cold Dark World: This song has Scott Shriner on the vocals, backed up by Rivers. As far as I can tell the song is about a stalker. Again it does not feel like Weezer. I may be able to come around to this one because it's not all bad, but so far I am not a fan.

King: Again, this one is sung by Scott Shriner, and is only on the deluxe edition. I found this song to be somewhat irritating, and I doubt I'll warm up to it. This does not sound like Weezer. It's not that a song has to be sung by Rivers to sound like Weezer (although that certainly helps), but the guitars don't sound like Weezer either. The whole song is written in a different style, and there is nothing that I found clever about it like I usually do with Weezer songs.

It's also worth noting that Weezer is pretty fired up about critics and being told to write more radio friendly music, and state it pretty bluntly in several of the songs. That is one of the main themes in this album. In addition, they are all in their late 30's and starting to feel it, so this album is both a reflection on the past and a discussion about aging. Overall I found it to be highly enjoyable, better than most of their recent work, and certainly worth the purchase. I also recommend buying the deluxe edition because "Miss Sweeney" and "Pig" make it worth the extra money. This album has and will receive a lot of negative reviews because it is such an oddball and will most certainly be misunderstood (I doubt that I understand it entirely just yet). You may wish to listen to some of the songs before purchasing just so you know what you're buying.

New viewer
I am a new viewer to Top Chef season 4, and it has quickly become my favorite show. While I love the show, I cannot believe I cannot watch the first three seasons anywhere. I am a Mac user like most on here, and would gladly purchase all three seasons if they were on itunes. I have always been a fan of Bravo, but this situation has turned me off to the network, and makes me not want to watch the rest of the season.

Just get a mac and convert the episodes to AppleTV. How hard is that? I do it all the time for OTA broadcasts.

FANTASTIC DEAL!
This is my favorite Weezer album and at $2 it's a STEAL! If you're looking to get more into Weezer buy this album! It's awesome.

Avoiding the sophomore slump
I am going to get this out of the way right at the start: I think Weezer's self-titled debut, or "The Blue Album", is arguably song for song one of the more perfect albums that I've listened to with nary a song that I'd consider cutting (even In the Garage which initially I didn't care for). "Pinkerton", the follow-up, is often considered the definitive Weezer release and the best of their entire career but most didn't feel that way and the album got mixed reviews though people now see it as classic over time. While it is certainly a stellar record, I always hold "the Blue Album" in higher regard though "Pinkerton" more than holds its own.

Tired of Sex: About the frustrating easyness of sexual encounters without love, the song is gritty and rocks hard with a great solo. 9.5/10

Getchoo: A great singalong and though the verses are simply okay, the chorus makes up for it and I even prefer the bridge out of all of it with the syncopation going on. 8.5/10

No Other One: Not as raucous as the last one but it's good though it's a bit repetitive so it's not really excellent though strangely that weird lead riff is catchy. 8/10

Why Bother: A bit more punk-rock in its sound and one of my favorites on the album. A bit on the short side but it's a perfect length: get in, get your feet bopping and get out. 8.5/10

Across the Sea: Strangely, people always call this the best song on the CD and while I don't mind it, I never thought it was the best. Very lyrically honest about a letter Rivers received, the song is strong in and of itself and I'd recommend listening anyway. 8/10

The Good Life: Ah, here we go. Catchyness all over the place from its main riff, the beat and of course its chorus. Hell, even the slide solo can be hummable. Definately one of the stronger songs on the album. 9/10

El Scorcho: The first single and the one that practically turned people off immediately. Lyrically it works, it's fun to sing along to chorus and it's got a fast-paced breakdown. Why was it panned? "Buddy Holly II" it wasn't, I guess. 9/10

Pink Triangle: The third single and one of the best on the album as Rivers finds a crush is actually a lesbian. Catchy in its own way and a highlight from their career as well. 9.10

Falling For You: Rivers mentioned this as one of his best songs he's written and while musically complex and a strong hook, it's sandwiched between Triangle and the next song after this so I usually skipped it but it's good anyway. 8/10

Butterfly: Not as heavy or loud as the others but I consider this my favorite on the record. There's quite a lot of emotion in the singing, the lyrical metaphor for relationships, it's kind of befitting that the heaviest song on the record can be the most tender. 10/10

Sure the record shouldn't have gotten that much hatred as it did and while I still prefer the debut, I'd heartily recommend checking out the cd.

Wow, where to begin? This is the best Weezer album, with the possible exception of the never completed often mythologized Songs from the Black Hole. Only 10 songs long, it is a snappy jangle of rock and roll wistfulness. Lyrically renown as Rivers' most brutally honest and revelatory album, it is hard to pick out a single song that sticks out. One of those albums that you just put in the player and enjoy; no need to hit the skip button. Personal favorites include Tired of Sex (even if for the title alone), Across the Sea, the Good Life, and El Scorcho.

Whoa, Rivers, that's pretty good...

Pinkerton... where to begin? Most Weezer fans favor either this album or the Blue Album as Weezer's best (the Green Album is generally accepted as inferior to these two). The majority of them favor Pinkerton. But why? Pinkerton was a commercial failure, at least compared to the Blue Album. When it was first released, no one liked it. Not even me.

But time changes everything. When I first heard Pinkerton, I thought, "Whoa, Rivers, what do you think you're doing?" (Rivers Cuomo is the band's frontman.) On the surface, Pinkerton sounds like a desperate, overly emotional and possibly even annoying this-is-my-life-story kind of album. With time, it evolves into one of the most mind-blowingly awesome rock albums of the nineties.

To what do we owe this bizarre transition? All that I can figure is that people tend to hear without listening. When they first hear Pinkerton, they think, "Man, this doesn't sound cool." They don't really pay attention to what they're hearing.

After a while, they begin to pay attention to the words, the rhythms, the infectious melodies, and then they're hooked. To everyone's surprise, the music all of a sudden sounds really, really good. I'm talking good enough to bring about vicarious happiness, anger, longing and sadness - maybe even enlightenment. Trust me, it's happened with a lot of people.

so this is it..,

here it is - this is the album that drove Rivers into seclusion for several years, writing songs for himself in his room and throwing them away.

this is the album where he felt liberated, where he would be creating this new sound for everyone. the emotional nakedness he hinted at in Weezer (funky blue cover) became fully realized here. not only his voice showed his emotions, you can hear it in every note of his fractured guitar - the soaring, pins and needles feeling it elects out of you with every solo, every vibrato. the music drove you because he sang about a pain not only secular to him, it's an album he made for YOU just as much as him. you almost wanted to grab cuomo and tell him everything will be alright by the end of Butterfly, crying and muttering to yourself how your girlfriend/boyfriend is an idiot.

a funny thing happened. about the time this album came out, power-pop/punk was going on it's way out. this cd was left on the side, pushed away in favor of nameless bands long forgotten. only making gold (as opposed to the 4 million weezer sold), cuomo freaked and closed the door on his musical career for awhile to sort through it all.

earlier this year, cuomo and company came out just enough to hammer enough songs to make a new album, one just released earlier this month. Weezer (funky green cover) seems to be poised as a new beginning for this band. the switch from blue to green, the retro-funky clothes - you can tell from the beginning that this is the same weezer you loved...but...somethings...just...different. something doesn't add up, that's only confirmed when you come back and listen to Pinkerton right after dispensing Weezer (green) out of your cd player.

Pinkerton's emotional beauty, the harsh nakedness and razorblade rhythm cuts deep. every song makes you want to sing, not only because of the melody (which is outstanding), but because you FEEL his pain. Tired of Sex, Across the Sea, Good Life - these are the songs i yell while i'm driving to work, cd-player blasted up, anger and energy thrown on top of it. critics blasted this at first because they expected meandering pop w/o substance. they bought into spike jonzes' videos about weezer - the geeky sensibility, the happy-go-lucky charm. it took critics years before they realized how amazing this album truly is - after rivers locked himself into his room, after everyone forgot who weezer even were.

the green album that was released but only a few days ago. where pinkerton soars and climaxes, green takes a calculated approach and just bops. cuomo hasn't the power anymore to show us what he feels in his music. for better or for worse, pinkerton scared him off that path. from now on, it seems as if cuomo will become another faceless/nameless songwriter who hides behinds his lyrics (albeit still VERY good songs).

so here is pinkerton - on one hand one of the best albums released in the 90s, yet simultaneously something which drove its creator to the brink of depression. the weezer you see now is 1/2 of their former self. here they are at their height.

A Big Nothing...
I am a devout, strict Roman Catholic, so this movie, and the others to follow in the series...along with the books that accompany it, are garbage to me.
The author has said that the theme is about killing God, so I would not support him even in the slightest way.

Yawn
As a fan of fantasy/action movie I had high hopes for this movie but actually fell asleep watching it. The story was the Achilles Heel of this movie. It was all over the place and just didn't hold together. An allstar cast could not pull this out. I am guessing this is yet another case where the movie does not do the book justice.

The two things that really stood out were some of the atmospheric special effects and the acting of Dakota, who was excellent as the young heroine.

But nothing can save a wandering story with lots of holes that leave way too many questions.

This song rocks!!
First, let me say I am straight, but this song rocks. There are people who need to get over their prudish way. There are a lot of songs out there that are more explict than this one. This song has a great and catchy beat. It amazes me that there are songs that have every curse word known to man and pretty much verbal porn and people have a problem with song. Unreal!

You May Now Kiss the...Uh...Girl Who... Uh... Ahhh Never Mind
First off, with such subject matter, I'm surprised Amazon even lets this on here. But they better not delete this review. The reveiw title references a Family Guy episode title if you were wondering.

Anyway, this so song is so blatantly self-explanatory, it screams controversial. Sure it has all the pop flavorings of a Justin Timberlake track, but lyrically, this song is anything but mainstream.

Lyrics: Nope, not reviewing those this time. You form your own opinion.

Music: Modern pop that is all the rage that you would hear on any top 40 radio station today. In fact, musically, it's sort of lazy and bland. Of course if you're a mainstream radio zombie, you'll love the music.

Overall, this song hides nothing. Take it or leave it, or see it as the camp fest it is. I mean, the moon doesn't have this much cheese! This is certainly a one-hit wonder, in the vein of "I Like Big Butts," and other camp classics. Whether it rises the charts any more then it has, I don't really know. But this song seems to be gaining steam (#40 after just two weeks on the Hot 100), so hide the kids.

Blood on the tycoon's hands
Although it's pretty much a given that there is violence in this film, "There Will Be Blood" actually starts off pretty innocently. Yet, the entire film eventually skyrockets into extremely emotional performances, with a crazy ending that is brilliant as well.

"There Will Be Blood" is set in the early 1900s, with Daniel Plainview, a prospector who hits paydirt with his first oil platform. Soon enough, he builds an oil derrick, and eventually builds a strong company. After one of his workers dies, he adopts the man's son.

Daniel becomes a big oil tycoon, and begins to build up an empire with the help of a man named Paul Sunday. Paul informs him of the oil below the surface of Signal Hill, California. Daniel builds a stable oil company, after paying Paul's brother, Eli, for his church.

Then things go wrong. Daniel's son, H.W., is left deaf after an oil derrick explosion. Daniel also meets a strange man who says that he is Daniel's brother. And, of course, Eli keeps asking for more money. And where is H.W's mother?

There are many strange conspiracies left unsaid in the artsy film "There Will Be Blood." Daniel Day-Lewis pulls off a great performance as the ultimate evil tycoon, who is flawed in every way possible. He is hollow. He is empty. And he won't settle down at any time.

Similarly, Paul Dano pulls off a stunning performance as the fanatical evangelical preacher, Eli. Speaking of which, this isn't a movie for heavily religious people. There is lots of rotten talking, and strange confessions.

The ending, however, is an awesome array of excellent back talking between Dano and Day-Lewis. And while I never imagined that these characters would make such creative use of bowling balls and bowling pins, I enjoyed watching how overly fanatical the two tycoons were.

This is a crazy film where nothing ever ends happy. This is a film about greed, greed and greed. Most of all, this is a film that really shows what happens when men are left unaccompanied with their greed, with no sign of sensitivity at all. It's fantastic and devilish, but it is also an extremely brilliant character study on masculine corporate power, which I've seen far too much of in the last few years.

Most of all, this is Daniel Day-Lewis in what could be his best performance ever.

Lives up to the hype
Almost invariably, movies that garner a lot of hype get very polarized reviews; the same applies to this movie, as evidenced by it's rough inverse bell curve of ratings (a greater proportion of extremely bad or good ratings than middling ones than most movies usually receive). Oftentimes, the much-hyped movies often deserve a lower rating than the hype merits. However, this is not the case with "There Will Be Blood".

This film really does live up to the hype, and in some ways exceeds it. I was astonished that there were so many 1- and 2- (and even 3) star ratings. Many of the lower ratings complained that the plot was choppy, and that the main character was essentially bad the whole way through, and didn't change his nasty ways. Others complained that the story was too moralistic (railing against the evil capitalist), or that it was incomprehensible. It is none of those things, however.

Not all characters, even protagonists, are supposed to come to a change-of-heart, or even a shocking self-realization that they are bad and that their ways have hurt others. In real life (as is so beautifully portrayed in this film), people don't always find the error of their ways. However, Daniel Plainview does have inner struggles (contrary to the opinion of some reviewers) in trying to reconcile his actions and their effects on his own life, the life of his son, and his relationship with his son, even if they aren't a large focus of the film or are not loudly and colorfully proclaimed. Ultimately, Daniel Plainview chooses (if that is the proper word), at the end of his struggle, to entirely shut himself off from others and from having any close or meaningful personal relationships; but this doesn't mean that the struggle wasn't there.

Furthermore, this film is not too choppy or abstract. It follows through an all the main themes and problems of the film and the characters and comes to a satisfactory conclusion for each (whether good or bad for the characters in question, or whether a traditional or non-traditional conclusion, is irrelevant). This is *not* an art film or some random abstraction piece made by an artsy, purposively (or even unconsciously) abstruse screenwriter or director. To say so implies that you have never seen a truly abstruse or incomprehensible film, such as the barely comprehensible (but interesting, yet in my opinion lesser) film "Pi". "There Will Be Blood" is one of the finest works of cinema an American has put out in years, and while it is not the Second Coming of Christ for cinema, it certainly ranks as a pretty darn holy event.

Deeply flawed, overhyped rubbish
Somehow, writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson can never get it right, and when he's combined with producer Scott Rudin ("The Addams Family Values"), the result is profoundly worse. Anderson's fetishist tendencies tend to prevent him from any real human understanding (call it "Quentin Tarantino Disease"). In this movie about an ambitious oil wildcatter, the audience is never given a reason to care about the main character, Daniel Plainview (histrionically played by Daniel Day-hyphenation), or to understand the roots of his unbridled ambition. He is evil, and so what? That he is contrasted with an equally unlikable evangelical preacher is totally without dramatic effect. If the oilman character is intended to be emblematic of mindless, ruthless capitalism, then "There Will Be Blood" is yet another boring morality play. Why not turn the same lens to Hollywood, where soulless accountants (Scott Rudin) produce "art" by investing in bankable comic book characters and movies by Anderson, whose deeply flawed works inevitably look cartoonish?

the guys from 3 Doors Down with their self titled release.

Kicking off this release with one of their more in your face, fist pumping songs in "Train" and then followed by the equally poignant and moving "Citizen/Soldier". They keep the music flowing throughout the rest of the cd and with this being a collective band effort in writing and all else. You get the feeling that they really took their time with making this and it shows throughout every song.

It ends with "She Only Wants The World" which is unlike any 3 Doors Down song that i've heard in sometime.

This will be the one that puts the band right back on top of the music charts and in the minds of their fans both old and new. 3 Doors Down is what it's about and others should take notice and recognize.

Improves with each listen
These guys are, in my opinion, the best band of today. They recognize their fans and just give their all and deliver quality in everything they do. It has taken me awhile to really get into this disc. Train just bursts down the track as the opener. Citizen/Soldier is a great song and It's Not My Time just rocks. Numerous songs are rather slow, but sure enough the chorus kicks in and surprisingly the energy level increases. I just enjoy these guys so much.I just liked their prior discs a bit more. Given more spins, I'm sure the rest of the disc will grow on me.

Worth waiting for!
When I first heard the single "It's not my time", I immediately went to my music store to purchase the new CD and it wasn't available. It was worth the wait. I have enjoyed the new CD, especially "Train" and "When it's over". If you like 3 Doors Down, you won't be disappointed.

Their best album since "The Better Life
Never has 3 Doors Down produced a more polished and reflective album. The first five tracks are among the strongest they've ever recorded. From the opening to "Train," it becomes apparent that this album will be heavier and darker than anything previously written. The singles are solid, and there is a great mixture of slow and melodic tracks along with heavier, more fast paced rock. If you're a 3 Doors Down fan, then this is likely the record that you've been waiting for!

3 Doors Down deliver their overall best album to date
3 Doors Down have been a band I've followed since their breakthrough hit "Kryptonite." I've always thought they're a little underrated for their talent, though they have had a good degree of success. Two years or so following "Seventeen Days" (a disappointing album in my opinion), the band returns with their self titled album, an album quite a bit superior to their previous effort. While I'll say right off the bat that I don't think there is any particular song on here that is quite on the same level as my favorite songs by the band (such as "Kryptonite", "When I'm Gone", and "Here Without You"), overall to me this is their best album to date on a song by song basis.

It kicks off with an album highlight, the southern fried rocker, "Train." Lead singer Brad Arnold sings "put me on a train mama" to a background of rollicking guitar riffs. This is set to be the next single, and no doubt will be big on rock radio. "Citizen/Soldier" is a song that was released as a tribute to the National Guard last year, and was not originally planned to be on the album. It's for sure a welcome addition though, as it 's also an album highlight. The lyrics work wonderfully as a thank you to those who risk their lives for their country. The first main single, "It's Not My Time" is next, and it does come the closest to capturing that pop rock magic that "When I'm Gone" and "Kryptonite" were able to achieve. Should be the biggest hit off the album, and a great song to add to their list of pop-rock crossover hits.

The album has a slew of ballads to accompany the head bangers, consisting of "Let Me Be Myself", "It's the Only One You've Got", "Your Arms Feel Like Home", and "She Don't Want the World", which surprisingly are all some of the best songs on the album. My favorite of them would be "It's the Only One You've Got", which has probably the best lyrics of any song they've done to date, the chorus going: "Hide behind your walls of maybe nevers, forgetting that there's something more than just knowing better, your mistakes do not define you now, they tell you who you're not, you've got to live this life you're given like it's the only one you've got."

"Your Arms Feel Like Home" is a love song with hit written all over it, especially when it goes into that classic booming power ballad chorus. Brad Arnold has dubbed "Let Be Myself" his favorite off the album, and it is yet another winner with solid lyrics, although a bit repetitive. "She Don't Want the World" is a song with a darker vibe, and it's one of the most unique songs they've ever done. My personal favorite though is the rockin' rocker, "Give It to Me." The song has an awesome riff laden chorus, and is the song I get stuck in my head the most. This will be huge at rock radio if released. About the only song on the album I've yet to warm up to is "These Days", but just skipping one song is way more than I can say for most albums.

3 Doors down is a great progression of "The Better Life" and "Away From the Sun" albums that made me such a fan of the band. If your a 3DD fan, I doubt you'll be disappointed. 4.5/5 Stars

I've Liked 3DD since the better life, i've loved all there CDs and i know every fans been waiting for new one. the self titles Awesome!!! the only people that won't like these song's are the ones who compare them to their favorite songs. i promise if you sit down put on those big stereo headphones and just listen you'll love it!!!! theres so much drive and feeling behind theses 12 song's. if you've lived any of the storys in these song's you'll really feel the music and isn't that what good music is? something you feel. i really like all the song's you can tell how hard they worked on it its pure 3DD!!!

not what expected
when i first saw this movie i was expecting something more on the line of saw with alot of gory detail in the killings but what this movie is to all who have not seen it with expectations of gore you will not get it from this movie. this movie is more on the lines of seven with brad pitt. one thing that this movie hits on is how simple it is to get people online to come to you, i see now why so many people are missing lol.

B Grade Thriller Which Almost Pulls It Off
I had no idea what to expect from this movie. But with the first scene in which the killer takes the life of a kitten, I figured it would get even more disturbing as the movie progressed. I was correct. Interesting concept nonetheless. The son of a man who commits suicide avenges his father's death which was exploited by the media. He does this by selecting people involved in reporting his father's suicide and proceeding to torture them for all to see via his web site. The more people who watch, the quicker the death. There's social commentary being made but first you need to get through the creative methods of killing people. There is an ironic twist at the end which I'll leave for you to see and ponder. Not a bad movie and certainly not for the squeamish. BnB Beatles Depot

Wait a minute...what are you trying to say....are you blaming us for loving violence!?1?
Untraceable seems like the perfect thriller. And it deals with something that not a lot of thrillers have yet dealt with and that's the idea of cyber crimes and a very disturbing cyber-crime at that. Untraceable could have been the perfect set up for a very disturbing, gory thriller with homages to Silence of The Lambs, Saw, and other thrillers. Unfortunately where the idea was great the execution was awful. I think many mistakes were made with this dud and done differently it could have been great. The unfortunate part is that director Gregory Hoblit is not lacking experience. In fact he has directed some fantastic thrillers and should have been able to make this a far more worthwhile cause. Not only that but he has years of experience of TV Cop Drama and yet fails miserably in creating any sort of character arc or real thrill to the story. Its not a complete wash I mean there are moments where you slide forward on the front of your seat as they dangle this murder in front of you and you think "All right, here we go" and then the next scene sends you slouching back into 'this is boring' mode. Its the perfect collection of the wrong elements.

One reason being Miss Diane Lane. She's a pretty good actress and I like her in a couple of films though I never been a major fan of hers and always seen her in mostly supporting roles. In here I find her boring and just with no emotion to her and that's exactly what she brings to the table. She leads the film in a boring manner without ever really getting into the case besides showing a lot of perseverance. Colin Hanks, probably the most talented on board, does show a lot of potential but they never give him enough to work with so he mostly is just there. Billy Burke is the hot detective who shows up to help out the single Lane. Burke barely is a blip on the radar other than being some sort of lame romantic contact for Lane that never really pans out.

Perhaps given a better, more dynamic script this cast could have pulled together and done something but I think they were an unfortunate ingredient because there was no chemistry no spark, except for maybe a slight connection between Hanks and Lane as partners. Now the real key to this film should have been the murders. The idea was the more people that visited a web site where someone was strung up and dying in a different way, the faster they died. This could have opened up a huge door for being diverse and interesting and they do a half decent job and the murders are grisly and disgusting but everything else around it is so tame and boring that you can easily forget about this film.

A nice Green Day retrospective
Green Day has become one of the most legendary punk bands of all-time. This collection, 'International Superhits!,' spans their Reprise years, 1995-2002. Although the legendary 'American Idiot' isn't covered (it wasn't released yet, obviously), you still get a great set of 21 legendary classics.

Green Day's music is simply amazing. Billie Joe Armstrong has the ultimate punk rock voice, Mike Dirnt is a great bass player, and Tre Cool is a great drummer. This trio is a trio not to ignore, and if you're just getting into Green Day, buy this set.

So how does this set measure up?

Positives
-EVERY MAJOR REPRISE HIT IS HERE!!! 'She,' 'Basket Case,' 'Longview,' 'Warning' and 'Geek Stink Breath' are all here for your listening pleasure.
-THE SOUND QUALITY IS EXCELLENT!

Negatives
-Why aren't the early Lookout years (1990-1992) featured on this set? The original 'Welcome To Paradise,' 'Green Day,' '2000 Light Years Away' and their great cover of The Who's 'My Generation' are all missing from this set.

Overall, you can't go wrong with this set. Highly recommended for any Green Day fan. ENJOY!!!

Can't beat a classic
Any person looking to become a Green Day fan should purchase this album.

While not all the songs may be great, the darker songs make up for that.

Then you get to Good Ridance (Time of Your Life) and think, "Wait, is this still Green Day?"

This CD shows what Green Day is still capable of.

My Recommendation:

Don't buy all of Green Day's older stuff if you are on a tight budget, and just invest in this CD. It supplies enough.

Green Day-International Superhits! (an unbiased review)
First, let me start off by saying that this is an unbiased review. I'm not a fan of the band nor do I dislike the band. I'm a fan of all types of music. I also won't be comparing this album to any other albums from the band. This review will be strictly on this particular album. Now onto the review.

Here's a breakdown of the songs:

Maria-This is one of the songs on this album that I didn't know before listening to this album. Clearly one of their earlier hits. In comparison to the other songs on this album, this song is just ok. Still has the typical fast pace guitars that Green Day is known for which is a plus.

Poprocks & Coke-Another song that I didn't know.Another just ok song from the band. That doesn't prevent me from blasting this song as loud as I can however. The harder guitars and quirky verses add so much to this song.

Longview-A classic Green Day hit. The lyrics are funny as hell, the chorus makes you want to scream the lyrics as loud as you can. One of my favorite Green Day songs.

Welcome to Paradise-Another awesome sing along. The instrumental solo is the real kicker in this song. It might not be one of my favorite songs from the band but it's a great addition to the album.

Basket Case-How could anyone not like Basket Case? Again, great lyrics, hard guitars. Catchy as heck. One of my favorite songs on this album.

When I Come Around-The first song on this album to showcase the band's more emotional and meaningful music. This song means a ton to me. The chorus isn't anything special but it doesn't have to be. The guitars and stellar lyrics take care of that.

She-Another song I didn't know. Sad, because it's a great, catchy little song. If you're unsure about whether or not to get this album for fear of not liking the songs you haven't heard of, you've nothing to worry about. This one song made the rest of the album worth it.

J.A.R.-Not one of the best songs on this album. I tend to skip over this song more than listen to it. I do like to listen to it when I'm angry though. Nothing is more punk rock than this song.

Geek Stink Breath-LOVE the guitars in this song. This is another just ok song. The chorus just isn't all that catchy and doesn't have much of a climax. The monotony killed what could have been a great song.

Brain Stew-You know this one too. The guitars steal the show in this song. The catchiness and heaviness of the guitars are enough to make this song one of my favorites on this album.

Jaded-This one is normally connected to Brain Stew. Short and sweet, this song makes you want to pump your fist in the air and sing at the top of your longs.

Walking Contradiction-The perfect punk rock song-funny lyrics, fast/catchy guitars, and an incredibly awesome chorus to sing along to.

Stuck With Me-I'll admit that this song sounds a lot like 75% of the other songs on this album. However, it still stands on its own. I don't play this one too often.

Hitchin' A Ride-One of the few different songs on this album. As always, the guitars put this song on a whole other level compared to the other songs. This was another song I didn't know but it is now one of my favorites.

Good Riddance-The one that everyone knows the words to. Some say it's overplayed (it's everyone's senior song after all). Probably my favorite song on this album. It never, ever gets old.

Redundant-One of the more emotional songs on this album. It's an above average song although this is another one I skip pretty often. I only wish the chorus was not so monotonous.

Nice Guys Finish Last-An older Green Day song. Funny lyrics but, again, the chorus is nothing special.

Minority-The first real song on this album that uses harmonies. This is my personal anthem. Another great Green Day classic! One of my favorites on this album.

Warning-Whenever I think of this song, I'm reminded of the music video that went with it and I immediately blast it as loud as I can. It's great to hear an acoustic guitar in this song when the majority of the songs are fast paced.

Waiting-A great way to end this album. Again, not my favorite song but it's still a Green Day hit and needs to be included.

My rating: 4/5 stars. I like 90% of the songs on this album. The other 10% is the reason for the 4 stars. Although I didn't know most of the songs before I listened to this CD, it's great to hear new material (to me) and I actually liked a lot of them. This is a must have album for any punk rock fan or any person who likes even only a couple Green Day songs. You don't know how much you want this album until you listen to it the whole way through.

Taking Punk into the 90's
"Do you have the time to listen to me whine
About nothing and everything, all at once?"

With that opening salvo from "Basket Case," Green Day perfectly encapsulated what it was like to be a teen in the 90's. Critics may have complained that Billie Jo and company were little more than pale imitations of the Ramones, Buzzcocks or the Damned, but if you were under the age of 16, those bands were something your Aunt and Uncle were into during college might they have been rebellious enough. Besides, every disenfranchised teen needs someone to tell them life sucks, your parents are stifling you and school is just holding you down. With "Dookie," Green Day said it perfectly and to the tune of over 10 million albums sold.

Given that the charts were being dominated by the likes of Mariah Carey and Michael Bolton, having Green Day give society the musical finger ala "Longview" made absolute sense. Green Day became the first "punk" band to have a platinum album, and rightly so. They were loud and fast and fun, while Billie Joe sang with a quirky English affectation, and Tre Cool may be one of the best punk drummer ever. That didn't stop the naysayers from braying "poseurs!," but Green Day had more up their artistic sleeve.

"Insomniac" gave the fans who banged their heads to "Dookie" a lot of what they expected in slams like "Walking Contradiction," which again sported a brilliantly self-effacing lyric in "I'm a smart sas, but I'm playing dumb." At the same time they were obviously plundering Ramones' songs, they also came up with a riff worthy of AC/DC on "Brain Stew." That was the kind of smarts that got them off of the alt-rock radio station ghetto and on to the ones that specailzed in Ozzy. By the next album, "Nimrod," the worldview had obviously made a huge lurch. "We're living in repetition," claims Billie Joe at the beginning of "Repetition," "content in the same old shtick." It's an honest to Pete love song! Almost as far from the "Dookie" mold was the inescapable "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)," safe enough to work its subversive way onto "Seinfeld."

That acoustic sound blossomed out in full during "Warning," especially the great title track. Even the requisite punky song, "Minority," sounds a little out of sorts with the rest of the CD. It's hard to sound like an overworked teenager when the adult nostalgia of "Macy's Day Parade" belies your age. Not that it matters...every single single of these 21 "Superhits" comes of as individualistic of the "Green Day" sound.

Obviously Green Day were smarter than originally given credit for. "International Superhits," as a history of modern alt-rock and just for plain fun, is every bit as worthy as "Ramonesmania" and "Singles Going Steady." More than any other band of the 90's, Green Day plumbed the spirit and energy of those first 70's bands and pulled into the next generation.

Punk Power
International Superhits is the first greatest hits collection from the biggest selling punk band of all time, Green Day. The main reason that the band were able to breakthrough into the mainstream is that they perfectly combined the attitude of punk rock with appealing melodies. A song like "Longview" has an angry edge, but is also really catchy. Other songs like "Welcome To Paradise", "J.A.R.", "Basket Case" and "Geek Stink Breath" follow the same pattern to great results. The band shocked everyone with "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" which is a beautiful, longing acoustic ballad. The band showed that they were not afraid to expand their horizons instead of being one trick ponies.

Other 90s Bands Green With Envy
Best of collections usually portray the marketing department's image of bands with any substantial longevity. The problem with that is the top pop hits don't generally reflect the overall character and personality of such artists. A refreshing exception is "International Superhits" by Green Day on Reprise Records.

The full slate of 21 songs strongly represents the works of one of the best bands of the 90s decade, and throws in a couple new tunes for good measure. The booklet design is a crack-up spoof of TV-infomercial-like record compilation products put together in the 70s, complete with semi-psychedelic art and photos that show these guys still have a sense of humor and would be great to party with.

Music and performing are hard work, but it's also supposed to be a lot of fun. Green Day has demonstrated from Day One that they have a blast making music and their fans should have fun listening too. International Superhits is a great way for fans, both long-time and new, to do just that. As a fan from the beginning, this CD is a welcome addition to my collection. Highly recommended.

Not what I expected - and that's a good thing!
I expected this movie to be another shock humor type of comedy (like American Pie or 40 Year-Old Virgin), especially considering that all I knew was that it was about a guy who orders an inflatable bride.

It turns out, though, the reason he gets the doll isn't because he's a pervert but because he suffers from acute social anxiety. The doll serves to midwife him back into society.

Despite the serious subject matter, the movie is still very funny; not in a raunchy way but rather more in a genuine, wholesome, guilt-free way. Also, the citizens of the town are incredibly redeeming and really make the audience feel good.

Surprisingly good movie. Highly recommend.

Lars and the Real Girl
This underrated film never hit a market because it is so different, but with Ryan Gosling one of the most promising young actors today, you can't go wrong (watch for Kelli Garner as the girl who is in love with him, she is an up and coming actress). He is very careful about choosing his roles that say something to the public in his films that Lars will have you laughing and crying at the same time; it is compassionate, about love, tolerance, understanding and very, very funny. It was nominated for best screenplay and really should have been nominated for Best Actor. Compare this to this Oscar nominated role of the year before (Half-Nelson) and you will wonder why the Academy didn't nominate for this film. You go Ryan!

Lars Scores with everyone
A lovely thought provoking movie that brings a plastic woman to life with skill, wit and craft.

Thoughtful comedy that leaves many impressions
Lars lives in one of the snowed-in Northern states; his town could be next to Lake Wobegone. He's painfully shy, in an utterly literal sense of the term - he won't even visit his brother and sister in law in the house adjacent to where he lives. Maybe it's no suprise that he orders a customized, anatomically detailed love doll.

The surprise is that it comes to life for him. Everyone else sees a slightly creepy adult toy, but he brings "Bianca" everywhere - to dinner with his brother and sister in law, to a Christmas party with his co-workers, even to church. He concocts an elaborate fantasy about why she says so little, why she needs a wheelchair, even why she needs to borrow clothing. A psychologist tries to address his delusion but, while it works itself out, recommends humoring him. And so, the entire community does. If they're going to treat her as real, they're going to do it right.

Therein lies the quirky charm of this movie - an entire town rallying around one of their own, playing their part in his odd drama. If that's what's best for him and there's no harm in it, they'll do it. A few balk, of course, but only a few and not for long. They accept Bianca fully into their community, sometimes to Lars's dismay.

The happy ending (happy enough) makes this into a movie about redemption, but that over-simplifies this complex film. The premise looks like some modern-day fairy tale. Once set in motion, the movie carries itself forward with understated kindness, maybe even nostalgia for a small-town closeness, whether that closeness ever existed or not.

All the Lonely People
(4.5 *'s) Lars Lindstrom has all the foibles one sometimes associates with a ventriloquist. Socially inept and insecure, every encounter with even loved ones is full of awkwardness and fumbling. He has difficulty expressing himself and relating to others. At home he lives in the mother-in-law house (or garage as they say) next to his brother Gus (Paul Schneider) and sister-in-law Karen (Emily Mortimer). One night a well-meaning Karen tackles him on the driveway to get him to stay for dinner. Needless to say he is almost traumatized by her good intentions. Work is as pedestrian as it gets: He works in a cubicle doing work on the computer for an unknown company. Co-worker Marla (Kelli Gardner) shows an interest in him, but even her overtures leave him flummoxed. Another co-coworker is friendly, but offers him his favorite porn. That is until he introduces him to his latest offering from "Real Doll.dot.com". Anatomically correct, the life-size doll gives Lars an idea.

Coming home to dinner once again, Lars is beaming about his new girlfriend. Gus and Karen are also beaming, truly enthusiastic and proud. Until they meet Bianca, the "real doll" who is seated with a conversing Lars. Lars is transformed. His speech is confident; his cheeks are reddened; and his outlook is happy. First comes shock; then comes acceptance. Not quite knowing what to do, Lars is so believable that they start to believe it too. They have him see a therapist (Patricia Clarkson), the general practitioner in their small Northern Wisconsin town, and the pastor gathers his flock together. Everyone starts to make jokes, but eventually they go along with someone who is truly delusional. Bianca starts to become real.

Billed as a comedy, `Lars and the Real Girl' is too often sad to be funny. Though profound and heartwarming, the laughs are often embarrassing because the situations of the protagonist are awkward. They elicit our sympathy. This isn't to say the film isn't a gem because it is. In spite of all temptations to pigeon hole this movie as cheesy or a screwball comedy, all the right components come together to make `Lars and the Real Girl' a wonderful little film and truly one of the best of the year. Without serendipity, this movie could have easily been a disaster.

(The extras are short but sweet: "The Real Story of Lars and the Real Girl" (10:11) is worthy for the "real" affection the cast has for the film with reflections by Oscar nominated screenwriter, Nancy Oliver, and a specially articulate director (Craig Gillespie). 'A Real Leading Lady' (5:55) features Ryan Gosling ad libbing facetiously with his co-star Bianca about making the film. The deleted "Bathtub" scene is impossibly short, clocking in less than a minute--but the written explanation by the director is insightful. The rest are trailers.)

Angel Plasticus
Director Craig Gillespie espouses a New York state of mind, after directing very successful commercials for over 16 years. He was born in Sydney, Australia, and he graduated from a NYC Art School. His first feature film, MR. WOODCOCK (2007), tanked at the box office even though it starred Billy Bob Thornton, and Susan Sarandon. It is possible that the movie released was not his director's cut, or his vision. The LA Times reported that David Dobkin was "brought in" to direct 3 weeks of re-shoots. Considering that most comedies of this ilk are shot in a month, it makes one wonder how much of Gillespie's film was left intact. Regardless, he has sprung back with a vengeance finishing up and releasing his second feature, LARS AND THE REAL GIRL (2007). It was shot in just 31 days. Gillespie had a momentary career as an actor in 1997, doing a walk on in HOTEL DE LOVE. He presently enjoys a reputation as an "actor friendly" kind of director, and he certainly managed to get wonderful performances from his entire cast on LARS.

LARS was written by Nancy Oliver. She is a playwright, like Alan Ball another playwright that worked with her on the HBO series SIX FEET UNDER. She has what I consider an excellent ear for realistic dialogue. She has written a script for LARS where every character is important, necessary, and integral to the whole--pregnant with drama, humor, and the best kinds of human interaction. She and director Gillespie took a subject matter that easily could have lurched into a downward spiral of crudeness that would have made the Farrelly Brothers giddy. Remarkably, sensitively, no character in LARS is made a fool of, is forced to clown around or burlesque the situation, and is not ever expected to sink into a trite and crass caricature that must spew smut for smirks. Regardless of a lackluster trailer, or an "iffy" choice of plot device, understand that there is never anything scatological about LARS. Its inherent decency outshines its odd and unique turn of events.

Ryan Gosling soars and shines in the lead role of Lars Lindstrom. Nominated for a Best Actor Oscar last year for HALF NELSON (2006), he seems to get better with every film role that comes his way -not bad for an actor who was a Mouseketeer with Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears. His Lars is both heartfelt and gut-wrenching, done miraculously without raising his voice. His internal monologue was crystal clear to him, and the camera lens catches it all, the back story, the pain, the fear, and ultimately the joy. His eyes mirror miles of unspoken history, and he was not out of character for even a millisecond. His Lars is a laconic loner who chooses to live in the family garage, who holds down a good and solid job, who attends church regularly, who dresses well and acts appropriately in public. He was not mentally ill; rather mentally still born, wound up as tight as a Rolex mainspring, a man who would rather sit in solitude than embrace "acceptable" levels of socialization.

Lars' brother, Gus (Paul Schneider), and sister-in-law, Karin (Emily Mortimer) try repeatedly to draw Lars feet first out of his preferred loneliness. It is Karin mostly who leads the assault; tackling him in the snow to make a point, even though she is pregnant. They feel that somehow Lars' behavior reflects their "neglect", and so they toil incessantly to drag Lars into the family unit. Lars resists, making promises and then breaking them, making up excuses and lying to friends and family that offer him opportunities to socialize. He only feels "safe" within himself, alone, where his active daydreams could endeavor to counter his dark nightmares.

One day, perhaps tired of the constant cajoling, Lars announced that he now had a "girlfriend" named Bianca, from Brazil, who spoke very little English, and used a wheelchair. Then he brought her in, carrying in his arms a very expensive anatomically-correct helium-filled sex doll, a silicone Sally, and he placed it on the couch next him. He immediately began to talk to her as if she were real, imagining her verbal responses and sharing them. In one of the film's most hilarious scenes, after overcoming the initial shock of this situation, Gus and Karin feel compelled to go along with the "illusion", the fantasy; not seeing it as a ruse, which it might have been. After a few days of this pretense, Gus confronted Lars, informing him that Bianca was not "real". Lars never wavered, paid no attention to him -gave him no reaction at all. So Gus shrugged and returned to his part in the active fantasy.

Through deft direction, artful and clever writing, and terrific acting, we soon witness every character in the story "accept" Bianca as a sentient being, interact with her, and fully integrate her presence, and the notion that Lars and Bianca were a couple, into their daily lives, into the daily goings-on within the community. By virtue of this loving gesture, they soon see Lars, for the first time, reaching out and beginning to shed part of his emotional shell. The "couple" join in and attend parties, church, volunteer at the hospital, and at the school, get involved with the PTA. Children especially love Bianca. Soon she becomes the town "sweetheart", and townsfolk are picking her up for her volunteer work and appointments, like at the beauty shop, by herself. Lars is no longer required to accompany her, and at first this really incensed him. But the largest miracle of this movie is by mid-point we the viewers began to accept Bianca as real. Several times in scenes I swore I saw her head turn slightly, or her eyelashes flicker. When Lars began to realize that he, too, could relate to others without Bianca in attendance, he began to formulate a plan.

Patricia Clarkson, always reliable, was solid, engaging, warm, and lonely as Dagmar, the town doctor -who also happened to be a psychologist. "All doctors have to have a background in psychology to work this far North," Karin said early on. Kelli Garner played Margo, a lonely co-worker with ticks and needs of her own, who kept trying to get Lars interested in her, and her performance was touching and effective. Nancy Beatty played Mrs. Gruner, a nice neighbor, who stole every scene she was in as a no-nonsense loving presence. R.D. Reid was also quite good as Reverend Bock, who facilitated the entering in of the fantasy.

This film tugged hard at my heart strings. By the roll of the ending credits one could hear sniffling aplenty on all sides. We take serious all the transitions that Lars endures and induces as a 27 year old man boy; issues of when does one become "grown up", and what exactly does it mean to "be a man". We discovered what it was that created the sadness within him, that shut him off from others -and we smiled and silently cheered as he resisted it, refocused it, pushing it aside as he moved on toward a more meaningful life. Yes, we could see the "feel good" ending approaching, but alas we were happy to welcome it

I am now a fan
i have never been a die hard death cab fan because i tend to stick to acoustic rock but bands like the killers and now death cab give me hope for rock. It is just nice to hear creativity, great vocals, and amazing production without making it cookie cutter. Great album i highly recomend.

Typical Greatness
If you like Death Cab you'll love this album. If you don't like Death Cab then please seek medical help. Immediately. On first listen certain songs stand out as better than others ("No Sunlight"). On subsequent listens other songs stand out as superior to the others ("Cath", "Grapevine Fires"), even favorites from previous listens. By the 5th, 6th or 10th listen it suddenly dawns on you that at one time or another EVERY song has at one point been better than the others ("New Twin Size Bed", "Ice Getting Thinner" etc). THAT is my definition of a superior album. No filler, all substance, all meaningful, all catchy. Every listen brings a new favorite track, how the hell can you beat that?

Love songs, breakup songs, creepy stalker songs, slow songs, faster songs, soft songs, loud songs. By this album, download the mp3's (not DRM'd crap elsewhere) and hop on the Ben Gibbard bandwagon, plenty of room on board for one of the greatest songwriters around.

Our prayers have finally been answered.
The album couldn't be better. The album sheds light on a new sound but also brings the sounds of old. I'm hoping we don't have to wait as long for the next one.

Humor and Romance

This movie is unbelievably funny. It's a cute story of a teenager named juno who accidently gets preggo. She decides right away to put the baby up for adoption. The movie basically follows her through her selection of a family for the baby and all the thrills of her pregnancy, not to mention her feels for the father of the baby. It's a really great movie and Ellen Page and Michael Cera play great parts.

Everyone seems to know a good thingwhen they see it! Juno is really popular and totaly worth watching. Great Fun for the whole family! The acting is Super and the story is really captivating. I bought it because so many people couldn't wait to get a copy and now I know why.

JUNO - BEST FEEL GOOD MOVE IN YEARS!!
This is a movie about a tough subject, Teenage Pregnancy. What drew me to this movie was that it starred the kid from Superbad in it, and he was a riot in that. Also I heard all the good reviews online and on TV. I originally walked past this movie the first few days it was at blockbuster because it looked like something I wouldnt be interested in. I couldnt have been more wrong. Yes theres no action or things blowing up, but it was an excellent movie regardless. This was a movie that left you feeling warm and fuzzy when it was over. I think Micheal Cera(Superbad) and Ellen Page(X-Men) did a terrific job in thier starring roles, and Jason Baitman and Jennifer Garner do ane excellent job as supporting actor and actress.

Pros: Excellent acting done by all!

But Juno is much more than its plot; the stylized dialogue (by screenwriter Diablo Cody) seems forced at first, but soon creates a richly textured world, greatly aided by superb performances by Page, Cera, Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman as the prospective parents, and J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man) and Allison Janney as Juno's father and stepmother. Director Jason Reitman (Thank You For Smoking) deftly keeps the movie from slipping into easy, shallow sarcasm or foundering in sentimentality. The result is smarter and funnier than you might expect from the subject matter, and warmer and more touching than you might expect from the cocky attitude. Page's performance is deceptively simple; she never asks the audience to love her, yet she effortlessly carries a movie in which she's in almost every scene. That's star power. --Bret Fetzer

Manufactured "Next Big Thing"
Evidently some music industry executive has decided that this album is going to be the Next Big Thing in music, because of the amazing advertising ... free song video download from iTunes using redeemable cards at Starbucks, ads on prominent webpages (possibly the way you got to this webpage), etc.

This would be necessary as the music won't sell itself on your own, unless you're looking for the latest in music fashion or bubblegum sounds. It's empty. Overused pop music hooks twisted around and sold again ... annoying, screeching vocals ... the usual vapid lyrics. It's just so boring. Any of the last ten contestants on American Idol could have done better.

Excited For Duffy
Love her sound! It does sound almost soulful to me, and kind of stripped down to a point. I like her the most out of the girls so far whom have come over to the US from Europe. Can't say I like Amy Winehouse but I do like this girl!! So far this is one of my favorites in 2008. I hope she has a long career ahead of herself.

Exceptional Debut Album - 4 ½ stars5
British starlet Duffy debuts in the U.S. with a fantastic first outing, ROCKFERRY. Sure, she doesn't have the throaty vocals of Amy Winehouse, the soft controlled soulful vocals of Corinne Bailey Rae, or the soulful, vocal inflections of Joss Stone, but she does have a distinctive voice herself. She's not completely soulful, but she's also not completely pop in nature, which makes Duffy quite the viable crossover artist in between the two extremes. There is enough singer-songwriter about her to allow her to rock (albeit softly), and enough grit and nuance within her vocals to allow her to belt it out. Coupled with the pop-soul production backdrops, the results in which Duffy yields are great. I have no doubt she could see success here in the U.S. Much like James Morrison, she has certain soul to her that sometimes comes up short is contemporary soul in the U.S.

The album opens with "Rockferry", a great singer-songwriter tune that is more pop than soul. However, listening to the title track, you can't help but hear a certain caliber of soul within Duffy's vocals. "Warwick Avenue" has a certain pop-soul feel to it, similar to Corinne Bailey's "poppier" songs. The arrangement makes you reminiscent of a song that Dionne Warwick would've sang in the late 1960s/early 1970s. The strings are absolutely to die for here, given this track an incredible retro feel. "Serious", continues this trend and may just be the most soulful tune up until this point. Vintage sounding electric piano, lush strings, and rhythmic guitars make you feel like you're enjoying the glory days when all music was connected in the 1970s. Here vocally, Duffy sounds incredible, with her somewhat whiny, yet overall enjoyable vocals.

"Stepping Stone" proves not to disappoint either, with its subtle, restrained production work. Here, Duffy's vocals shine strongly over the understated production work. Again here, Duffy balances pop with soul for an excellent fusion between the two, which is maintained throughout ROCKFERRY. The following two tracks, "Syrup and Honey" and "Hanging On Too Long" are by far my favorite tracks of ROCKFERRY. "Syrup and Honey" is by far the albums most obvious soul-cut, which reminds me a track that would be right at home on a vintage soul album or a missing track from Amy Winehouse's BACK TO BLACK album. Here on "Syrup and Honey", Duffy definitely earns her vocal credibility, if only for her soulful "Baby, baby, baby" during the end of the verses. It is the perfect track in which every inflection and nuance by Duffy is Grammy worthy. "Hanging On Too Long" similarly proves to ooze of understated-soul, which may be what truly makes Duffy sound so great. Vocally, this is another on-point performance, with an incredibly catchy refrain.

"Mercy" continues the consistency of ROCKFERRY, lifting production work from vintage soulful productions. "Delayed Devotion" is another nearly perfect track, which sounds like something that Olivia Newton-John would sing in the 1970s (though Duffy is much better). Catchy with a great poppy nature, "Delayed Devotion" is another 5 star track in my eyes. "I'm Scared" and "Distant Dreamer" end this exceptional album just as strongly as "Rockferry" opened it.

Essentially, I believe this album is one of 2008's best. Duffy could possibly be another commercially successful British import here in the U.S. in my eyes. Even if she isn't, she has certainly released one of 2008s best albums nonetheless. That in itself is a gargantuan accomplishment. Excellent vocals, excellent songwriting, excellent production-work. 4 ½ stars Duffy!!!

SVU Awesome Show
This show is by far the best of the Law and Orders. The characters are appealing and the actors who play them are really good. The chemistry between them is truly riveting. I often watch only to see the charectersl relationships develop and put away the bad guys. Five Stars all the way!

Awesome!
Jordin Sparks is an amazing singer. She really has a unique quality and people like to listen to her songs. Hope she's able to come back. She truly is blessed with a beautiful voice...

You have no idea how big an improvement she's made.
And I don't think she's writing any of her material but that's OK for now. She just started out.

But my point with the title was that Tattoo was safe. So safe that it bored me. I think I thought it was "cute" the first time I heard it but I still haven't seen the video and I don't care. I don't think I'll ever care for that song EVER.

And that's fine with me.

But this single...I heard it a few times and was like "I like it. I really do."

It's much more...her. I think. Still don't "know" the girl! But it just seems a bit less predictable. Sure, this love thing is tried and true to death, but this song is catchier to me, the production a LOT nicer (like a floating, "this can't be real" kinda feel) and it shows more vocal power. I will say at the end though, Jordin literally shrieks a note and it's just too loud. That could've been left out but if you don't mind belting, then this song is good pop music.

The vibe, playful and youthful (the eldest, Chris is only 18 after all).

And even though some of you are sick to DEATH of him (me excluded), Chris does a good vocal job here too. After hearing the SMASH, "With You" and a few of his older tracks, I can tell that even though they had no hand in the writing of this track, that at least Chris feels his part. Surely, Jordin does too.

End note: I like Jordin. She's a sweety, got's a good set of pipes and she's damn pretty. However, I did have many gripes with her actually winning because although she was more marketable than Melinda (who got ROBBED!!!!!!), she didn't have the pipes like her nor quite like Lakisha.

It was sad.

But she won. It's over. Great voice. Hope to see her co-write 2 songs (at least) next go round and I wish her happiness. No surprises here.

A show for everyone: drama, romance,humor, suspence
Once I saw Moonlight I was imediately hooked. The cast and story line are both quite impressive, and it is just getting better and better as the series goes on. Enjoying the chemistry with Sophia Miles and the history plus unfinished buissness of Alex Olaughlen's character Mick with shannon sossmon. It is interesting the new twist that they have given the modern vampire. He sleeps in an glass ice box, can be in the sun for a given amount of time, and a stake in the heart only renders him unable to move. I am not imbarassed to say I was a fan of Buffy and Angel, but this is not at all the same type of show due to the writting or feel the writters have been going for. More realistic with a scifi twist. I would also complament the set department: ya gotta love the vampire's quarters. Conteporary and colorfull inside, and historic and a bit dark outside with the balcony.

LOVE IT!!
I love love this show!! It is one of the most interesting show I have seen in quite a while. The chemistry between Beth and Mick is WONDERFUL!! The plot is also amazing. The acting is believeable unlike Angels (another vampire show).

Will Moonlight survive the writers' strike?
Everyone has a fascination for vampires, especially sexy ones like Interview with the Vampire. I'm not saying if the writing hadn't gotten better that it would have survived, but the writing did get better and we got hooked on the chemistry of the characters. Then when the D.A. died, it only caused more sexual tension and possibilities. I only hope this does not die because of the writers strike. It is one of the best new series and to follow Ghost Whisperer definitely makes a great night of supernatural television viewing.

A very nice new anime themed on the opening of the new commercial space frontier. By the time the story starts, the various national space programs are well underway and lunar energy commercialization has started. The national programs are to be merged into an international one. We follow the story of our two protagonists, one American, one Japanese as they inexorably find their way to becoming astronauts.

The plot isn't new, with many elements recognizable from SF. The animation is generally very good, wand some of it excellent. The dialog is quite adult for the most part. The music is very reminiscent of that of the HBO series "To the Moon", for which this anime pays some hommage I think.

I gave this 4 stars rather than five which I would give to the best anime has to offer, e.g. "Ghost in the Shell", "Wings of Honneamise".

Moonlight lover

I had recorded all the shows on my TV and then the DVR messed up and I lost the first 3 episodes. The quality of the unboxed are great and on the small screen you see some things that you miss on the big screen. Not a waste of your money and I will be buying the boxed ones if and when they come out after this season. Hopefully there will be another season. Go Moonlight and all the fans.

Vampire detective with new twists and amazing cast

While I'm a fan of the vampire genre in general I am the first to admit that just because a story has a vampire in it does not mean it's going to be worthwhile, but thankfully with Moonlight every episode is filled with humor, new and interesting twists on the vampire lore, drama, talented and dedicated cast performances and enough edge of your seat mysteries to keep you sharp. If you think you've seen it all when it comes to Vampire detectives ... then you have not seen Moonlight. Fast paced drama with just the right amount of laughs thrown in to offset the intensity. Check it out today!

Wait, Wait, It's... it's awesome
Ok so it started off well and then about the time of the writers strike it had a bad episode that could have killed this for me and then bam, I don't know what happened but suddenly the story is flying the action is interesting and the forever knight remake is reborn with new power and vigor not seen since, well forever knight. The episodes are great except for one and even though they are good they keep getting better and better. This has that real touch that goes so well with honest in your face fantasy, like dead like me? the dead zone? you'll like this. it's a keeper.

Listen to it loud all the way through for the music then get the lyrics. I laugh every time I listen to it. It's got everthing, hard and fast songs, slow and moving, sexy, great lyrics and a sense of humor. Best new music I've heard in ages.
Not for lovers of soft pop boy bands, rap, or sweet crooners. They rock, they don't take it too seriously, and they have a lot of fun doing it.

Once again, Nickelback show that Rock will live forever....I am 43 years old, but have been a hard rock fan all my life. I grew up with the likes of Bon Jovi and Motley Crue, now 20-25 years later they are still rockin!!!

Yesterday I read a review by a worldwide mag journalist that basically said, "Same song over and over. Guitars start, Chad comes in, laments about something, then guitars come back in, over and over.."
Well this clown should get another job...did he even listen properly to the lyrics??? Nickelback don't write lyrics for the purpose of filling gaps...
Just take a listen to some of the garbage on radio today. I am tired of listening to 'gangsta' rap about 'repressed people', while these 'repressed' people flout massive gold jewellery and drive exotic cars....

Sorry people, but Rock has been around for nearly 55 years, and it will NOT go away! To all lovers of heavy hitting guitar riffs, and EXCITEMENT in music, check out ALL of Nickelbacks CD's.

Nice and powerful rock songs became a rarity in today's world, dominated by hip-hop and electronic beats with some vulgar lyrical content. Thank God, Nickelback is around to rescue us from this perverse world that we live in today.

"All the Right Reasons" is a long-standing Billboard Top 40 album for almost two years in a row and not by fate. These guys really play good music. They remain consistent to their roots. They are competent musicians. They are one of the few remains of the true rock music spirit with an advantage: these aren't nasty or poser guys.

Honestly, the entire album is a pleasure. Picking one or another song and call it a favorite is just unfair to all of the others. Most records can be described in a few words and have a couple or so of good music. This one is truly an exception - a happy one.

After again, being saturated in a multitude of new bands for what seemed like the millionth time, the cream finally rose to the crop, and to me Nickelback seems to stand out.

The key to their success isn't necessarily innovation or creativity, they aren't Pink Floyd. But then again they don't want to be, and that's what makes their music fun. Nickelback gives us some traditional rock and roll that can be fast, slow and fun. Melodies we haven't heard before and entertwined with themes that we are very familiar with: hurt, love, loss, rage, fun, and regret.

With the release of "All the right Reasons", Nickelback makes a very "complete" album that flows well throughout. The song "photograph" is a power ballad for the modern day rock scene and one who's popularity has not seemed to die down. "Fight for all the wrong reasons" has a great beat to it and is explosive as it is soothing. "Rockstar" is a great rock track that, like other songs of the theme, talks about what it takes to be one and the wants and needs that go along with the dream. A really fun, groovy track. Perhaps the best written song off the whole album, extremely well done.

"Side of a bullet" and "Savin Me" are more down and dirty fast paced rockers that defitley don't take away from this albums overall senuine appeal. If Nickelback can continue putting out records like this, they'll be talked about for a long time to come.

I bought the Alvin & the Chipmunks DVD for my kids. We watched previews for weeks on TV, so I knew that it was a DVD that we were going to purchase. We LOVE it. It is very funny and a Family movie (from age 1 to age 99). Everyone was laughing through the movie. The kids have watched it about 10 times already. It was cheaper on Ebay then in the stores at that time so that is why I bought it. A Great Movie!!

My granddaughters really wanted this DVD. They are ages 6 and 4. We all loved it. I thought it was very nicely done and had enough to keep the adults interested too. Maybe I need to listen to it 50 times and I'll like it more. Thing is, with Coldplay's previous efforts, I haven't had to!

And Now For Something Completely Different...
Forget everything you knew about Coldplay, "Speed of Sound," "Clocks," all have been turned upside-down in amazing and glorious fashion. Coldplay drops their trademark sound for something completely different, and the world of music might never be the same again.

The sound is possibly indie, definitely something out of the U.K., and certainly something new we've never heard before. It's surreal, it's art, it's a new breed of rock. The lyrics are not as cryptic as previous efforts, but still not a spelled out song, with the only chorus making a shred of sense, "If you love me, won't you let me know?" A haunting picture is painted of winter, and the song certainly paints and fits the mood.

Chris Martin never sounded better vocally, and they go perfectly with the song. As for catchiness, I don't think this is one you'll be singing in the grocery store, but you'll remember the general feel of the song.
As for negatives, there isn't any. Take the song, or leave it. It certainly won't appeal to everyone.

Overall, not the first thing you'd think of when it comes to summer music, but I see a world in which this song becomes a big hit. Certainly over the pond. The song is a haunting painting of ole', with originality, and the element that really makes the song, the mood. You might not find another thing like it, and you're certainly not going to confuse it with something else. Let more U2 comparisons come in, they're as good, and should be as successful. Take it or leave it, Coldplay never ceases to amaze.

his movie received so many bad reviews when it was at the theatre, we actually didn't go. We were even reluctant to rent it. Now, I'm sorry we avoided it because it's a really charming movie about love. Holly and Gerry meet when she is 19 and he is 25. They have ten years together before he dies of a brain tumor. Then, just as Holly begins to sleep her life away in a deep depression, a birthday cake from her dead husband arrives at her doorstep and with it a tape recorder. The message he gives her is that he'll be sending her letters and she needs to do what is in each letter, no matter how much she hates it.

Although many of the letters are silly, it's clear that Gerry thought out each one and has a reason for it. There are some of the cutest, funniest bits of dialogue in this movie. These are some of my favorites: "I'm flirting in good faith." "Take a pill." "Did you find a new husband yet?" "Kissing is a man's business." And "You made me a man by loving me." There are more, but I can't stress enough how well the dialogue in this movie flows.

I'm not a fan of Hillary Swank and I found her acting lacking in some parts, but watching the gorgeous Gerard Butler (along with his gorgeous dimples) was worth putting up with Hillary and there was definitely chemistry between the two. Harry Connick Jr. looked like he needed a haircut and a shave and Kathy Bates acted like she needed a pill herself (or a laxative). Holly's friends were a bit grumpy and selfish at times, but still delightful, especially on the trip to Ireland that Gerry planned for them.

SPOILER AHEAD*****After Gerry's death, and at his wake, Daniel (Harry Connick Jr), who appears to work in Holly's mother's bar, hits on her. Throughout the movie, he always seems to be there when Holly needs a shoulder to cry on and you wonder if the two will end up together. They don't. And you're thankful when you see who is really around the corner. Pay attention during the scene where Gerry meets Holly for the second time and he's singing with a band. Who else is in the band? Toward the end of Gerry's letters, he sends her on a trip to Ireland with her two best girl friends. While there, he sends her to his favorite bar and she meets William who sings the very same song that Gerry sang for her the second time they met. She keeps bumping into William while in Ireland and they end up in bed together. Then you discover that he was Gerry's childhood best friend and played in his band. (Yes, bingo.) Although she goes back to the U.S. and you think it's over, William shows up at the very end and his father, whose name is Paddy, gets a crush on Holly's mom (Kathy Bates). It was a very cute ending to a very delightful movie.*****END OF SPOILER

Although many people gave this movie poor reviews because Holly doesn't meet the man of her dreams until the end of the movie, I think they're missing the delightful parts during the grieving process when you see how perfect Holly and Gerry were for each other. And you see the brave spirit of a man who loved his wife so very much that he's willing to send her on an excursion to meet someone she'll spend the rest of her life with. I think that's priceless.

After seeing "P.S. I Love You"...it is now my all time favorite romantic comedy. Probably replacing "Notting Hill". Any movie that makes me laugh and cry at the same time is a winner! The opening argument scene was so well written. It was very realistic(my husband and I have argued just like that)plus it introduced the characters history and chemistry etc. Very effective opening scene. I was not a Hillary Swank fan, but she won me over. Her performance is wonderful....I believed she was Holly and Gerard Butler WAS Gerry. Every role I see him in is spot on. I wonder when he will get the accolades he deserves. Everyone else in the cast was excellent. I will agree that some roles seemed to be cut down to almost nothing...James Marsten and the actress who played Hillary's sister, and Gina Gershon.

This movie had some atypical twists and turns and I loved that. I also would enjoy seeing the movie a second time. Because some scenes were flashbacks or out of sequence, you could enjoy some scenes early in the movie now knowing what will be coming up in the future...if that makes sense. (An example: Holly must clean out her deceased husband's closet...pack up his clothes. She keeps his leather jacket though. Later in the movie you flashback years before to the scene where Gerry and Holly first meet and discover that Gerry gives her his leather jacket when she's cold. Seeing the movie a second time, I would look at the scene of Holly packing clothes and holding on to his leather jacket differently now knowing the history behind it.)

If you want a romantic comedy formula movie, this isn't exactly it...this movie has layers and really makes you think while it entertains. I also did not think it dragged for even a moment.

One extra recommendation...buy or rent "Dear Frankie" with Gerard Butler. Another movie that is a true work of art!

A Dark "Take Me Out"
This slow hit has taken the music world by storm, and six months after it hit radio, it still won't leave us. The song's verses are sub-par to say the least, but the chorus hooks you into the song, making it at least a radio hit. The song also barrows the same riffs and hooks as "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinad, which is by far a better song. The song also has more of a dark mood, with the half-angry vocals.

Overall, an overrated, unoriginal song, that does just enough to pass off it's flaws. Check out "Take Me Out" instead, it's ten times as good.

My Grandson wanted a video called "How I Met Your Mother" for Christmas season 2.
I searched through the local video stores with no luck, so I went to the internet and found this site. The price was good, the shipping rate was very reasonable. The product was brand new and in original package.
Although I haven't seen the DVD, it made my grandson very happy.

Disreguard the stupid title of How I Met Your Mother - stupid name, but seriously the FUNNIEST show on tv. The writing is hilarious and the actors really deliver. It is almost Seinfeld-like how the phrases from the show can now be used in daily life (slap bet, the yips, Swarley). If you have never seen this show, you are missing out. I highly recommend it.

The first 12 episodes are fantastic. The acting and story line are phenominal. I could not stop watching once I started. I watched all 12 episodes in 2 days.

Every once in a while
Who likes the cable companies? NO ONE. They over charge and under deliver all the time. And yet many people, myself included pay extra for Showtime, because of shows like Dexter. Now that you can get the show on iTunes or unbox, you can ditch the cable or at least reduce the damage each month.
Oh yeah, this show. Why would anyone like a show about a killer of killers? I can’t explain it. BUT I can’t stop watching it. I want to meet and be friends with this guy, although knowing his charactor he wouldn’t let that happen. You have to see this. Try just one and you will be hooked.

I’ll admit, I bought this album thinking that it would be a continuation of the songs on her first album “Unwritten”, catchy tunes with fun lyrics. This collection of songs is nothing like the first album, but that is not a bad thing. These songs grow on you in spite of them being nothing like the songs on Unwritten. The lyrics are deeper and three songs are particularly uplifting, “Pocketful of Sunshine”, “Happy”, and “Freckles”. The latter (”Freckles”) is an inspiring tune about acceptance of one’s own quirks and stands out as one of her better songs. If you are a true Natasha Bedingfield fan, you’ll find yourself singing along with these tunes in no time. I’m giving this CD 4 out of 5 because I believe Unwritten was a slightly better album musically, (Or, maybe it’s because “Unwritten” was her first-born and I’m playing favorites). Don’t let that deter you from buying this album. There is plenty to love about this collection and Natasha Bedingfield does deliver her unique artistry in Pocketful of Sunshine.

I had never heard of this singer until I saw her on the Early Show, Just love her singing and the CD is excellent. Great meaningful songs, easy listening, and would reccomend it to everyone…going to buy her other CD’s now that I have heard this one. Favorite song on this CD is “Love Like This”. Her voice is sexual, throaty, with sorta rasp and beautiful!

I am 31 and a mother to three girls. I watch her show on Disney and listen to her music. It has a great beat and I know it is something positive that I don’t have to worry about children listening to it. My 20 month old just lights up everytime it comes on. We have a copy of it in the two older girls rooms and one in the car and we never get tired of it. I would definately buy another should anything happen to the ones that we have. This program has something for everyone: history, romance, sex, violence, you name it. Rhys Meyers is outstanding as the young King Henry VIII, as are Maria Doyle Kennedy as Katherine of Aragon, Sam Eliot as Cardinal Wolsey, Jeremy Northam as Sir Thomas More - the list goes on and on. The production values are impeccable - costumes, sets, all are first class. It's fascinating to see Henry from this viewpoint, as a young man. He was indeed the "rock star" of his age.

Wow! This movies suprised a lot of my friends and family. It was a wonderful story about a young man who came through insurmountable odds, based on the simple belief that he would prevail. His acting was very natural and fluent. The way the movie catapolted you into it felt a lot like Mr. Hollands Opus. Know one could not be cheering for the character at the movie's end. His love of music was insperational and driven. We have recommened it to several family friends and have borrowed ours out as well. Why it did not do better at the box office is beyond me. As a StarGate SG1 fan from day one, it was heartbreaking to see the series come to an end, but they couldn't have ended on a higher note. This episode is absolutely wonderful - touching, exciting, and sad. I loved it. The effects are absolutely stunning. Full scale movie quality stuff. Best ever. Sniff!!

Flight Of The Conchords

Love these guys. I will freely admit, it took me a few viewings before I "got" Flight of the Conchords on HBO. At first it just seemed weird and silly to me. Then, much like Monty Python, Bob Dylan, Woody Allen (geniuses I didn't quite "get" at first), something clicked. Their humor is sarcastic, dry, witty, and sometimes surreal (see "Bowie") but always inspired. Furthermore, after several listens you will appreciate how well-written and complex some of their songs are. Besides, this CD is worth the price for "Rhymeasouras versus Hiphoppopotomus" alone (sorry that I butchered the spellings there...forgive me...but the song cracks me up). These guys mimic all kinds of genres, but the one constant in all their songs is their goofy outlook on the world and their subtle, dry wit. Love it! Can't wait for season 2! This CD will hopefully tide me over...hey guys, how about a full-length live album sometime? That would be sweet!

It's catchy, it'll be a hit in the club but it's no 5-star song.
Believe that.

But the song gets repetitive.
But the lyrics are fun.
It's better than Yeah.
It's extremely radio-friendly.

Amazon disappoints me for the first time1
I never thought Amazon would let me down like this. I am a huge Amazon customer. My purchases go all the way back to the beginning of Amazon. I have spent thousands of dollars on Amazon. I am also a huge Mac fan and user. Amazon is preventing me from using my iTunes, my computer, my Apple TV and my iPod for playback of The Office Season 4. Unbox is so antiquated compared to the elegant method I was allowed to use for the other three seasons. Please reconsider and get together with NBC, will you?

o my some people are pissed off about unbox!! im happy to say im NOT one of them. i was very pleasantly surprised to learn that i could download new episodes of my favorite show, the office of course, right to my computer!! it sure beats waiting for it to come to DVD. i also really liked the idea of the office going to hour long episodes (just downloaded the 3rd episode), so i was kinda disappointed when i found out they went back to half an hour episodes :( but that didnt change my love for the show!! ill take the office anyway i can get it!! the first 3 seasons were just great and with what ive seen of the 4th season my opinion hasnt changed. and isnt likely too. although i do want to punch Ryan in the mouth!! but i have a feeling hell get what he has coming to him........ill keep my fingers crossed!!

This is one of the best shows, that I have seen, in a long time. The cast is amazing and the writing is top notch.

God awful drums and background music2
Her voice is great, the song is pretty catchy, the music video is well done, she is gorgeous... but the drums sounds like a cheap radio turned all the way up (clipping/distortion), and the organ/keyboard/synthesizer sounds like a cheap childhood Casiotone... spoiled the whole song! I do hope they fire the band and re-release another version of this song. Those bleedin' drums!!

Leona Lewis has hit it big in the UK, winning Simon Cowell's "The X-Factor" (think of American Idol across the Pond) Her "Bleeding Love" has made her a British success,and she's bringing it overseas. It's enjoying success in the colonies.

"Bleeding Love" is the usual heartbreak/breakup song. There are the lyrics of "you're cutting me up/I'm bleeding love." The lyrics aren't that bad. It's a song about codependence, or the pain of an emotional break. Lewis' delivery is semi-soulful/semi-Celine Dion. The instrumentation, which is soft rock-meets-hip hop, makes her a quasi-Mariah Carey. Every once in awhile, Lewis verges into histironics. The song is neither as great as KT Tunstall,nor as awful as Fergie. It's "eh."

"Bleeding Love" won't have you dancing along. It's a ballad,and a bland one at that. If you're bleeding love, get an antiseptic,and put on a band-aid.

Wonderful sound, the words are great, very heartfelt, touches the heart and soul, the ultimate in all sound, words, and the beat. Very touching. Great and wonderful. No words can really describe the feeling.

House: Skeptical at first, But...5
When the last season ended I was thinking that there was no way I would get back into enjoying House again as I could not imagine it without the original supporting cast. However, it has been really enjoyable and captivating following the direction they are heading and also getting to gain insight into the new characters as they unfold. I love this show! Dr.House (Hugh Laurie) is such an excellent and diverse actor he can make just about any situation "work" and be beliveable! Go House!

His "Jerkness" explained.4
I like this year's season, just as well as all earlier ones. The difference this time around is that the diagnostic challenges, while still convoluted and involving esoteric medicine, are hitting House while he's absent a team. He's having to boil the ocean on the HR side, and cure patients at the same time. House-like, he's brutal with his subordinates, but he uses their medical inputs to enable his diagnostics process, even as he fires them. Notice the pill-popping and white board aren't so in-your-face? They've had their day too. I hope the show gets another season after this one. The newbies aren't quite real yet, and we need to get to know them. Right now they're all kinda bland. But House ain't.

Producers, leave those kids alone?3
I am stuck by the continued decline of "House" in season 4. The season reeks badly of producers introducing dumb ideas to drive up short-term ratings--in season 3 it merely smelled bad. Please release the writers and devotees of the show to guide it properly, or expect an early demise.
Most likely wasted words on deaf ears, but I hope not.

Good in perspective4
It's a catchy song and almost original. It sounds good on a cd, but when listening to a live version, one wonders if the guy on stage is the same on the album, and if they only hired him for the looks....O.O

Great actors doing a lousy job1
in a not very good movie. Duvall, usually a marvelous actor is wooden, tired, Wahlberg also usually marvelous, literally phones his lines in and Phoenix who was simply brilliant as Johnny Cash relies on twitches and tics to indicate emotion in his character. A fine bunch of supporting actors given dull dialogue in an even duller plot. An uninspired shame of a movie, not even good enough to be given B status.

A Song That Grows As A Novelty
First off, I gave this song 4-stars because nobody else has yet done so. But anyways, when I first heard this song in full, I wasn't impressed, and the MacBook commercial seemed to get the best part of the song. I mean the song was original, different, and a throwback to who knows when, but it just wasn't that impressive. Well, I am now sad to say, my opinion hasn't changed much, however this is the type of song that grows on you. So at first you may hate it, then you'll think it's OK, then you'll like it, then you might love it.

The song has a real novel quality, in that it's a novelty. It's not going to win Grammy's, but it's fun. I really started loving it when me and my family found ourselves singing along with the 'la la la la' part. However, the song is great for the first two minutes or so, then it starts falling apart, going off in weird and strange directions. So like most Peter Jackson movies, this song needed to go back to the editing room. Sure 2-minutes isn't very long, but when your peak is a MacBook commercial, you can shorten the song a bit.

So overall, you might love it, you might hate it. It's a strange and different song that may be far from perfect, but it has some very good elements to it. And that might just make the song worth buying...

Open minded, I gave it a try and listened more than once. This CD just doesn't work for me. Nice album cover though.

Commercial always use annoying songs don't they? This one takes the cake. I had to look it up, so I could hate it more, if you can understand that. Her voice is like fingernails on a chalk board. Not good at all.

Downloaded to HD Tivo; Aspect ratio was loused up, unwatchable1
It wouldn't seem so hard to get the aspect ratio right, but that wasn't the case this time and the result was unwatchable. Now I'm wary of downloading video from Amazon. At least this video was free, so I didn't have to go trying to get my money back.

As with most bikini vids, the shots are too fast-paced to get a good look at anything. The music was great.
